Thread regarding Lowe's Cos. layoffs

Union??

I’m the first one to say that all unions have ever done is cost me a job. That said, when American unions first began they formed to combat unfair business practices and the lack of government support for employees. This is not an opinion or an urge for change.

Is it time for Lowe’s employees to join a union?

I agree that Lowe’s has lots of problems, but unions are not the answer. You think you deal with a lot of lazy employees now? Bring in a union and you’ll have even more—much more.

a lot of jobs would make more sense to pay by the completion of task and not an hourly wage. FAIRLY done those who want to work extremely hard and do quality work could then make more money and have the motivation to personally outdo themselves on a daily basis.

Lowes should do what fedex does. I’m tired of working hard while the dead weight hardly works.

As Trump would say:

Only If the union is like that at fed ex or ups. The employees wear gloves when loading trucks so the company can keep track of how much work

each employee produces. They don’t fire people that aren’t productive they just don’t schedule them. As long as you aren’t in the bottom ranks

of the production reports you should be good.

I’ve got a friend that started at Fed ex a couple years ago, he’s organized works hard and the report shows it. He said he was going to make close to 6 figures with bonus. He also said the dead weight is quickly replaced.

Same with friends in the sheet metal and plumbers unions. If you do great work you make great money and are almost always working. If your work isn’t up to standards and someone needs to redo it. You don’t get scheduled.

i think its past time for all workers to fight the activist investors and the corporate boards that only exist to shave off the profits of the people actually doing the work.

profit shared, employee owned businesses. but that will only take place when the masses realize their collective might.

time for executives to give up their private jets so that more families can have food security and comfortably pay their bills!

the worst part about what these low paying retail corporations engage in is that the average taxpayer...the same people struggling to pay their bills....then subsidizes the wages of their low wage retail co-workers via federal benefits programs. its all part of the business model that walmart made famous. instead of being penalized for having so many workers needing assistance---similar to how unemployment insurance works...they get to pocket the savings from paying such poor wages.
