Thread regarding Bank of New York Mellon Corp. layoffs

So much for enjoying today

Why am I here today of all days, checking to see if there are news on more layoffs? Instead of relaxing and enjoying myself with wife and kids?

Honestly, I don't know if I am more mad at myself or the BNYM management who put me in this state of mind with never ending layoffs.

Bny is a disgusting company. This is well known in the markets.

For a reality check, update your resume and look around to see what kind of jobs are available. Then decide if you want to change now, or wait for what might happen here. You could get laid off with a package, or remain. But knowing your options might improve your outlook and make the job more bearable, or give you confidence to move on. And you will feel good, having taken a positive step. Good luck!

BNY is a horrible place to work. It’s worse now than ever before. I pray every day they lay me off. I’m too old to look for another job, just dream of retirement. Find another job as fast as you can. And make sure it’s something you want to do! Takrpe your power back! Good luck!

So sorry. Many share your feelings, although that might not help any off us. Wishing you peace.

Hate to tell you but heard more layoffs on Monday July 8th. I was let go a year ago and it was the best thing that ever happened to me.

I'm sorry you're in this headspace. I sincerely hope you were able to enjoy at least some of the day yesterday with your family. I left BNYM on my own & have never been happier. Once I started job searching, interviewing, and receiving offers, I felt that I was back in control. We each control Our Lives. BNY is a horribly diseased company, but if you take back your power and start job searching now, you will feel much better. It's better to conduct a gradual, targeted job search over a longer period of time. Please don't let bny ruin your days, and especially important moments with your family. The company definitely robbed me of my happiness and health, both physical and mental, but I reached rock bottom and said "no more". I started job searching, and five months later I handed in my resignation. Best thing I ever did for myself. Hang in there and please do what you can to take that power back. Good luck. :)
