Here is a fact that should send any new potential hire running. They ask if we have a Work From Home (WFH) policy and recruiting says yes..... when a company hides the intent by calling something the opposite of what it is is should tell you something about the company culture and principles
It is a "No you cannot WFH" policy. To work just one day at home one time occurrence you need managers approval and must notify HR. And if you want to work even one day at home on a regular basis it take VP of HR approval. That is a must work in the office policy. (MWO)
For me it's actually been great. No more overtime or weekend work. My laptop goes in the trunk of my car at 5pm and stays there until I arrive at the office. And it never come in the house anymore
And since their new "Cellphone Policy" went into effect they took my old iPhone 5c piece of junk away too. Now China and India can wait until the morning for me to answer any email
And 401k match... ha yes we are increasing the match but now if we lay you off you loose your match. And read the fine print for new hires. If they quit early and aren't vested they can loose multiple years of match
Yes a really modern and progressive place to work
I only stay because of the pension which new hires cannot get !!!
The only good thing about Honeywell is it makes me look forward to retirement in 4 years.... or at next RIF.... which if history is any indication, will be this July thru December for at least 6% in USA
