What about our lazy CIO who rarely shows up to work and is usually clueless about this business?
What severance benefits were offered this time around? How sizeable were the packages?
Seeing some of retirement in Malaysia
@1za They are replacing IT people with AI and shifting salaries for attract high paid engineers. Many of the folks they let go had been there for more than 10 years.
@1vz read the room on transformations bc too often they last about as long as they have an exec sponsor commitment, a budget, and fearless removing organizational hurdles. Too often those hired for these roles run head long into the nay sayers, who are at least honest, and the status quo benefactors playing the game until they either shape shift a transformation or they outlast it. Update in a few months and tell us how it's going.
@1p0 They’re already hiring for an Sr Mgr IT Strategy and Transformation. Read the room.
@1cq aren't they typically some form of "strategic"
@b1
Well ,as long as it was "strategic"
I think this happens every November doesn't it? Always around the same day- second week of november.
@qa what does that mean? Care to elaborate?
retooling skill sets
@b1 sure
Rumor is they RIF’d 10% of the workforce. If that’s true, stocks will probably go up, once it comes out.
@dz which BU ?
@OP I would have had no idea that IT would have so many people that they could lay off 100 head count. How many people do you suppose work in IT?
@dt
BU was hit, not just IT
Always before Thanksgiving. Does anyone know what functions were hit? Is it just IT or others also hit?
Some people in Irvine hit.
I heard it was a strategic realignment. No matter, no worries.
