Cyber enterprise will get hit again. Guaranteed.
@a2 8-10 involuntary departures is every week, you disingenuous bo-b
@eg I'm toast so !
I suppose they will start with people who don't feel guilty about not working unpaid hours on weekends.
@OP agreed and comfirmed, 3-5 people to be laid off next week
@b8 Huge layoff in engineering last year (maybe year before) resulted in 500 new sales positions. MB made it public, so there is precedence.
@b8 the cork investment is part of a larger hail Mary to win a government bid for product and services.
@cg we are hiring hundreds across the globe, company is loved by the markets and we are being rewarded with a strong stock price
Someone is obviously trying to pump the stock. The problem with that is that once we are in a hole this deep the layoffs actually just signal more poor management dressed up as a reorg.
@OP fake news, no layoffs on the horizon
Any input on the total numbers that could be affected?
Major investment in Cork is just continuing payment of current salaries.
@b8 wouldn't be the first time. There is no logic behind this leadership's decisions.
@b8 Tax credits. 1600 layoffs is probably a stretch but Ireland just gave them a bunch of tax credits to expand their operations in Ireland.
It doesn’t make any sense when OT announced a major investment to create 400 jobs in Cork to then just layoff 1600 people. Why announce this expansion to the marketplace and then cut more jobs than you announced you are adding ? Nonsensical. I don’t think the bloodbath rumor is true. No way they announce an expansion just before a massive layoff
Agreed and confirmed, 8-10 people to get laid off
