Has anyone noticed Belk has drastically reduced the amount of labor hours for the stores this holiday?!

Yes, they hired a few seasonal employees, but not for the departments that actually need them. Then they get upset when the customers state in their reviews that they can never find any help. So we're just getting the brunt of the workload, and still being pushed to get credit apps, email captures, app downloads, etc. while working extended hours.
Our store has the lowest hours of any store. And the worst part of it is the customers are not being taken care of. Not to mention the ridiculous workload that is put on each associate. And yes I know I can quit. The sad part is that before it got so bad I actually liked my job.
Yes, they've actually sent people home after they clocked in or took them off the schedule in my store.
@qj sounds like Sears… cut until there was nothing left.
Not to mention that’s on top of the job cuts of salaried members of mgmt earlier this year. Hear there will be more cuts after the new year. I just left a $6M store as SM. The workload for a “hometown” store is evenly ridiculous.
620 hours a week is mind boggling for a big box department store
i'f that is not a red flag the company is in serious trouble, i dont know what is. whoa......
204 lake city, fl
under 600 hrs.
a total S**t show.
@bs yes I we were given 620 and still have to cut...
who's at 700 hours or under ?
Yes 1/2 of the hours we were given last year.
