Thread regarding Rent-A-Center Inc. layoffs

Lost Identity

This is a company that is slowly losing its identity. Rent-A-Center is now forcing their employees into becoming a Amazon drop off hub. This a desperation move to attempt new blood into Rent-A-Center. This means additional responsibilities for employees without any additional pay. So on top of begging clients to buy something, chasing after past due clients that just hide behind their doors, employees are expected to ship out a unrelated companies packages. Is it even Rent-A-Center anymore or just a company on life support?

You spend all day doing Amazon returns can barely do your job. It’s an all day thing start calls n bo-b it’s a line for Amazon 16plus returns for one person! They cuss you out and accuse you of trying to steal because they don’t get a receipt. Their customers constantly call now asking for us to stay after hrs or wait for them so they can return. Crazy part what money are we making when we have to buy our own supplies for Amazon. What gives are we Amazon employees now!

They are not even training staff correctly on how to process the returns. A quick job-aid and off you go. Most stores dont even have the space or organization for this type of business. I imaging they will have a lot of problems with theft and missing items. Like most ventures, this program will be shut down after 1 year.

They are trying so hard to be new and innovative when they really need to be who they were. RAC does not want to be a dinosaur but what is wrong with being a large powerful TREX? I have not worked there since 2018 and from what I hear I am lucky I "left".
