Verizon to close more stores. Even flagship high performance corporate stores are not safe. I have direct knowledge! Keep your head down and jump to another role, plan for severance, plan for indirect takeover and interview opportunities, and/or look for another career. The stores are cooked! No store is safe!

@bc they’re looking At profitability. So how much the stores cost- rent, facilities, maintenance, etc. vs how much revenue the generate. Then they’re considering neighboring locations to predict if they would absorb traffic after decommissioning.
@be just curious was this stated about stores with a lot of tenured employees being on the chopping block ? It sure seems that inside , outside they are targeting older employees
Man I personally might have a better opportunity. I kind of want it to happen to my store so I can get my severance before leaving.
@bc it’s not about underperforming stores. Why would an indirect purchase a bad store? From recent conversations, they are going after performing stores as well. No store is safe, flagship stores are on the radar. Also, stores with a lot of tenured employees are on the chopping block.
whats the criteria? bottom stores not hitting number?
Good luck to all of you. This was actually a very serious tip but yall hangout and wait for severance. I prefer to be proactive and find something sooner than later. People are spending 4-5 months to find a new job. Clock starts now dummy’s.
We don’t need stores people shop online.
If this is the case make the decision and do it, there have been these rumors for years now. There are rumors that they want too keep the stores. Layers and and layers of mgmt that can’t make the ultimate decision.
I'm taking this very seriously.
