I was fired yesterday and wondering if anyone else on the same boat?

@h8 no - only executives get fired now. And it’s called a golden parachute.
The other 99.9 % are generally doing everything they can to make execs look good.
Very few people below the VP and director layer do things that trigger a for cause dismissal. Why? Because they know their lives depend on it.
My comments still stand - firings and layoffs are the same thing. It just depends on whether you are part of the .01 % or the 99.9%
@gv yes, there is a difference in the most important way all - legally. It has ramifications for notice, package qualification, role discontinuation, and EI. In the softer context it speaks to abstract termination as a dispassionate exercise, versus personal judgement of performance.
@bj no there is not. 99.9 % of layoffs are firings.
Fired or laid off?
There IS a difference.
