GN&T Brace for Impact

July 16 has been confirmed as a notification day. GN&T is expected to see significant reductions, with the WNO Operations Support team anticipated to be among the hardest hit. The anticipated changes follow longstanding project management challenges and leadership issues that have been building over time.

@b1 Wrong. Those charges are always posted after a RIF takes place. Your comment about “forward looking” is simply incorrect.

Does not a 2nd quarter 8k filing for this kind of expense HAVE to be for an expense occurred ( or obligation for the expense realized) during the 2nd quarter? ( i e announcements no later than June 30) ?

someone posted in another thread below about 8-k verizon filing for 300M severance budget belw:
https://www.verizon.com/about/investors/sec-filings
06/29/2026 Latest filing (8-K)

google search interpretation below of filing also suggest the fresh around 3k cut is already finalized and hence the 8-K reporting is more forward looking>> points to jul-16.... and then jul-24 Q2 results to explain publicly investors .. we are making progress towards 5B for 2026, here is the proof (jul-16)....

The Charge is Massive: A $350M to $450M severance charge is extraordinarily large (Current re... p. 3). For a company of Verizon's scale, this dollar amount represents thousands of impacted employees, which far exceeds the "several hundred administrative roles" reported in May.The Language is Forward-Looking: The document states Verizon "expects to record" these charges for the second quarter (Current re... p. 3). In corporate accounting, severance charges are recognized when management commits to a specific, detailed plan and can estimate the precise cost—meaning a major new reduction plan was finalized right at the end of June.

Heard about merging couple VP positions getting reduced. Not heard on RIFs at B6,B7 level yet, but this forum has intel of Jul-16 that sounds right to meet the savings before the October(stocks together).

anyone has some heads up to give to fellow V-teamers, how much 10%, 20% RIF across or its random in GNT again ?

Mainly GN&T - I hear ~10%
Some smaller targeted things in other groups, VCS, field.
GTS is not affected this time. We get the South Indian mafia instead. V. on top, all his chronies reporting directly to him, everyone else in GTS moved down one to three levels. That will get enough people to quit that they figure they don't need a RIF. Big announcement after the weekend, but most teams that got shuffled around were informed today.

@a1 do we know any other specific groups that will be impacted? Do we think it’s up to each SVP how to cut numbers or is it coming from the top that specific teams will be cut?
