Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

The Fiserv I knew in 2019 is gone

Long gone - retired just before and during the Operation Excellence phase of the merger. After that all he-l came in from Frank. Jeff Y was gone to a house in Florida with a ton of cash. Everybody else learned SAPIENCE at the risk of termination. Yes there were problems of course - even IBM could su-k up a disaster or two. But the relatively good firm was shot full of holes. Am very sad at what it has become today.

I do think it is funny the people that want Jeff back. OFS under Jeff was not great. He took away benefits, was cheap with bonus payouts and seemed hard on certain BU's even when they had a ton of people working very hard. However he still was 1000x better than Frank. I would say, I didn't like Jeff but I could respect him. I had zero respect for Frank.

OFSV people, good old Jeff gave all of you up. His retirement and handoff to Frank was part of the deal from Day 1. He didn’t give a sh-t about his former MC or any of you.

I was at OFS from 2007 to 2022, I would say it went like this the first 1/3 su-ked because my BU was cheap as F. Middle third was great in ETG at its prime, and the last 1/3 su-ked because of First Data destroying what was once a decent company. I still miss the good ETG days. I will say the OFD employees (non-management) were great and amazing people, mostly beat down by management though. The First Data Management I would say 1 in 10 were ok, but it was rare.

Frankly, this Fiserv is First Data. First Data is like a word for some haunted place. It's been this way since the early 1990s with the fruit being countless su----es, countless rank and tanks, countless layoffs of teams after execs took the teams out for award dinners, countless tens of millions of dollars in fully vested stock awards for execs, to on and on... Fiserv may have had a better culture but when First Data meaning KKR with Frank B. bought Fiserv. But even KKR and Frank were in a long line of others. It's frankly sick. I can't believe it still even operates how many times it has been gutted.

It’s a totally different company. The worst things are that they don’t even pay lip service to culture - old Fiserv was big on having a happy employee population and now they don’t care but wonder why the company isn’t getting results. It’s because a large section of workers are going through the motions.

Other issue is any number of new hires have swaggered in at senior levels with no knowledge of this industry, have forced out long timers and made no attempt to understand client needs. It’s all about flattering the MC.

Sad indeed. Happy retirement! You timed it perfectly — got out before things went to sh-t everywhere. Meanwhile the CEOs people on top keep collecting while we’re left with breadcrumbs.
