Thread regarding 3M layoffs

IT needs to hurry up and announce layoffs already

We're all well aware of what's coming. It's an open secret with a thousand rumors that management has done nothing to dispel.

Cognizant is here to help. Cognizant just needs to learn your job so they can take over the boring day to day stuff and free you up for more important work; cooperate with the job shadowing. Cognizant is going to bring expertise and help us move faster, and they'll help lighten the workload.

Cognizant is going to take our jobs.

Yes they will! I got laid off within a couple months of meeting with consultants and detailing work that I do. This was a Corporate Tax position of all things to outsource.

@ef I don't need to teach them the wrong way to do it; Cognizant comes up with those ideas on their own!

@d4

Amateur move - holding back a little bit of critical information.

Pro move - Active sabotage and deliberate misinformation. Teach the Cognizant how not to do it, or the wrong way to do it. Do it so they they unknowingly make everything worse.

What is 3M going to do? Fire you? They are going to fire you anyway.

@d4 and how do you expect that will work? Sounds like a win for mother BB either replaced or fired. Start updating resumes the BB ship is sinking.

Hold back. Don't allow yourselves to be cheated by giving away your knowledge for pennies. The company is now a competitor and treat it as such. It's business.

I really hope they do.

I'm in IT, as well, suffering from incompetent leadership insisting that we lean on incompetent contact workers.

And God forbid you even hint at the complete inability of Cognizant to do their job.

At this point, I just want to get out and leave them to reap what they've sown.

Can we get a company in to do this to the C-Suite?
