Thread regarding Wells Fargo & Co. layoffs

The General concensus

Like others here most would like to keep their jobs, to not have to start all over again. Nobody wished for layoffs, firings, etc. There were many times since the layoffs started that I would pray for that Golden Tuesday after payday. One would post about here and hear the smug response, I'd like to keep my job. Well wouldn't any person working just to survive. Now like others around me, the staged mid years are going on and we're getting not meets. Not meets we're told means NO severance. Like they're saying, chase the new carrot. Improve by year end or get fired, no severance for you. The kicker is they've changed the formula used for evals, where you're going to be not meets no matter what you do. They've hired 1,000's of new hires. I guess they've filled the quotas of cheap labor in the Philippines. The new hire class should be hitting the floor we're told in Roanoke, VA in the near future. Seems like that's when the closing Richmond site, will start the firings and the layoffs. As for me, since the cushy keeping the job is not an option...I am praying for a Tuesday after payday displacement. I'm envious of those fortunate to have been laid off with the golden ticket and 60 day non-working period. In retrospect, what good did it do to stay waiting for severance?! They've made it a no win situation. The beatings will continue until morale improves. The firings will continue, and they're saying sc--w your morale...they just want you to F off.

@jp that's exactly what my coworker told me too. I'm preparing my resume because my coworker also said all of us who received IM will be getting that rating again. They ARE rigging it that way to fire the unfortunate people who didn't get the luxury of being displaced. The Lucky people who did get displaced. The man who gave me IM said oh that's not true. Saying the year end doom of a second IM just means no raise. Lol. We know that's a lie.

If you get Inconsistently Meets twice in a row you are gone with no severance and probably without bonus. Suggest you start a serious search if you got IM for mid-year.

@gq did you your bonus or did they frame is as no severance?

@cg - I can't tell you exactly...but the rough time frame for being termed for me was, a year end -"Inconsistently Meets" at my year end in January, I was termed in late March. When I complained to HR, they insinuated that the process to term me was started in February.

Just laugh it off OP. The only way they win is if you leave without your severance. Everything else is psychological warfare. Don't fall for it. Try to stay positive. Plan for the long term, but hold the line for now. I could retire, but why should I when Shart will pay me to leave? I'll wait. Patience is a virtue.

Similar thing just happened to me in CIB. How long do I have until termination?

This just happened to a coworker of mine and none of it makes sense as the feedback provided was really off base. But she is also someone who escalated an HR issue with someone who was causing problems on the team that ended up having management get reprimanded for their handling of it so there was likely a target on her back.

@bv Did you speak up at your LOBs townhall meeting? Did you consult with an attorney for a potential lawsuit on behalf of your teammates? Did you do anything other than try to save your own skin?

No? Then enjoy more layoffs. Because this is how the "ones making millions" get away with these hiring/firing practices, when nobody stands up together against them.

@bq Really? The people here making millions are the one in it for themselves. Not the worker bees. Get real.

This is sad. Nothing ever changes because everyone is in it for themselves. Then when they get let go they wonder why.

@bd Yes because throughout all of history no one has been treated worse than white men.

@a4 Bullsh-t....."The People" doesn't include whites, men, or Veterans (unless you're a minority Veteran).
