@x9 "about vsp. I got approval last week. I am just in waiting mode, until they tell me take it or not." You got approval but you're waiting for ????
@x9 what dept are you in? I haven’t heard a single approval in CM yet?
about vsp. I got approval last week. I am just in waiting mode, until they tell me take it or not.
I thought I will be safe. Got my masters and they paid and now are asking me to leave. Go texas
@kb best of luck. I received my approval Friday. Cobra I wish it was better. Any who; I am moving forward.
got it .. i do not line cobra packet. But time to move on
if you were told to take it then I would suspect that your job is being targeted.
@f1 what department are you in ?
@f1 great, good luck
I am in florida area, just got my approval today.
@br was the decision from centene to approve your application sent to your work email or to your personal email?
I just checked, no email! I wonder if some markets leadership were quicker with decision or if corporate is doing certain departments at a time.
@bd did you already get an email stating your VSP was accepted? can I ask what role you're in? ugh I'm hoping I get an email soon..
Yes i received my also. I will be a accepting it . I have Monday to decide.
@bg I'm hitting the refresh button over and over. Did the email go to your private email or centene email address? TIA.
Your PL was trying to do right by you.
Here's the thing, if they want you gone (fairly or not), they can get rid of you. A RIF makes it very easy to get rid of employees, without needing to document cause or anything. As long as it's not discriminatory, there's no barrier to eliminating your job.
So for your PL to encourage you to take VSP means they know it's a better deal for you. If they wanted to sc--w you over, they'd put you on the RIF list and tell you to NOT take the VSP.
@bf Yes, just got it.
@bd Did you receive an email of the approval?
I am 63 and my vsp has been approved. And I am taking it.
If a PL told you this its likely bc they know you are on the chopping block in the near future above twhm OR bc they plan on chopping you the first moment they can.
Not HR but Employee Relations. Use all the words: harassed, feel bullied into it. Ask questions like :is this because of my age/gender/etc. Doesn't matter that it isn't, just ask those questions. Say this feels in direct violation of the guidance shared with all.
@aw I wouldn’t stress about it. Off to much bigger and better things to come anyway. Have a feeling this company is going to collapse in the next 18 months.
@av during a 1-1
Was it done via Email, personal phone , Teams? Was it in a large group or 1 on 1. Lots of different factors with how you’d move forward.
Not sure what would come from it because it may be your word against your PL. if it came from a colleague, then it won’t go anywhere because ultimately the decision is yours.
Didn’t happen to me, but more context is needed. It was ultimately your decision and you shouldn't be ‘told’ what to do. A different perspective: maybe your PL couldn’t tell you details but was trying to look out for you by encouraging you to take it. Maybe they knew you’d be impacted by RIF and thought you’d get a better deal. Did you have a good history with your PL? Because that could indicate if it was malicious.
Do NOT go to HR and file a complaint! It will put a target on your back to find a way to get rid of you (ex: it’s related to performance). Find an employment lawyer for a consultation first because if you’re being TOLD to take the VSP after the deadline has passed, that could mean they are going to fire you instead.
@a6 never take your concerns to HR guys they are not your friend! It could make your situation much worse.
@OP Depends...
Scenario: if not meeting expectations I would say "Thank you for the heads up and because I'm most likely going to get let go anyways, I think I will definitely take it."
Scenario: meeting expectations and a good track record I would say "why are you encouraging me to take it? Are you trying to get rid of me?"
Scenario: if a decent relationship with my PL I would think this PL is just trying to look out for what's best for me because this PL might know something I am not aware of.
Scenario: if a horrible relationship with my PL I would think this PL would want me to keep doing badly and PIP me.
I took it, just waiting for the email, I would be happy if my PL was ready to let me go ahead and go. Chance of a lifetime! I am mentally struggling with all this and so ready.
If you direct leader told you to take VSP, then believe me that they are NOT your friend. I suggest you start documenting every unethical thing that leader says and does. Make sure it is all factual and iron clad. Then, target their career, as they are doing to yours, and seek to have them removed or a civil lawsuit against that leader or the corporation or both.
These are times where if the American workforce does not metaphorically “fight” back against the corrupt behavior all of these large corporations are partaking in, then it will set a precedent for continued behavior for generations to come. Do not leave voluntarily nor quietly. If you are forced to leave, then leave LOUD!
@a6 Never had an issue in 12 years. No performance problems. Knew my dept was going to have some cuts with upcoming RIF. I think PL's knew way more than they were making out to. Wondering if it was just a heads up or what.
Sounds like a concern you need to take up with HR! Why did your PL say this though? We need more context bc for all we know it could be due to poor work performance etc
A manager telling someone they need to take a VOLUNTARY separation package sounds too fishy. Are they just trying to get rid of you without firing you? If you say no, will they retaliate and find a way to fire you? That just doesn't seem logical for a manager to tell an employee that especially since involuntary layoffs are in the picture as well.
@a3 I know deadline was July 2. I am asking if people's PL told them they need to take it.
Go back in time because the deadline was weeks ago.
What happened? A PL told you to take a VSP? What dept and state are you in?
happened.
Can PL's tell you what you should do without ramifications?
