Profits down? Lay off the workers. Profits up? Lay off the workers anyway to show even better numbers. There's no scenario where we come out ahead. No matter what happens, we're the ones who get sacrificed. It makes you wonder if there's any situation where the rank and file aren't the first to go.

The IT positions being offshored are the first ones that AI will fully replace. There's method to the madness.
@m8 These workers taking over IT are not ready for prime time. It is obvious that they have little IT experience to begin with, and can only handle the simplest tasks that are cut and dried and can easily be summed up in an easy steps document. They have no critical thinking or troubleshooting ability - neither of which can be taught. I do not understand how SEC regulations that used to be strictly enforced here can be enforced/monitored when you have overseas workers whose company has and will lie on their behalf to keep in their jobs. How does it serve shareholders or anyone to put these people in charge of all infrastructure, risking data exposure/theft, including PII? What am I missing? Am I the only one seeing this? Everyone acts like this is all a raging success but no one will speak the truth about it?
@cw As opposed to your very substantive response? Please enlighten us about how this round of offshoring and layoffs will be different from the last 7 rounds? Why will it magically work this time instead of further entrenching bad managers in their roles so that they can offer future creative solutions like offshoring and layoffs again?

And the OP is right. I have seen stellar workers dropped for Accenture losers. It is dehumanizing. Anyone concerned needs to start working on their resume and find new options. It is obvious they are high on foreign labor and are willing to make excuses for why they cannot perform. Hard-working knowledgeable people are not appreciated, except for their ability to train cheap foreign labor.
