They see us as a cost to cut. Do they think they can survive without the people who actually do the work? We're treated like we're disposable.

You re only a line item for the corporate. A resource. Simple as that. Esp. when the corporate is lead by an accountant (bean counter). Not even HR is your friend (some exceptions maybe). It's hard to come to the terms with that. But that is a trade off - working in mega corp.
