@ax that’s what I am fearful is happening. Sounds like a bad sci fi movie of the future. Wait we have seen that before Soylent green

The writing is on the wall. This company (and likely others) are moving to vended solutions to reduce headcount. Stay ready.

Might not read too much into this. Cognizant is taking on a very large project for the California Health Plan for re-platform off their current platform that will be unsupported in the near future. Its a very large project

I was talking to a friend in the IT department at Bank of America. They recently halted planned layoffs that were supposed to happen due to AI implementation. Interestingly, the technology was moving faster than the workplace culture. Users struggled with basic tech literacy—like telling a computer from a monitor—and overwhelmingly preferred live agents. It just goes to show that human-centric support is still irreplaceable, and AI isn't the immediate threat people think it is.

IT leadership is terrible. Throw away billions to vendors and get nothing done is a pattern. Fire the CIO and his cronies.

I thought sending American jobs overseas had consequences for these companies in the USA? Especially a company that is funded by state and federal governments.

Just AI and outsource the entire company so only a handful make millions.
What a great future!
The rich get richer and push the middle class to the poor working class. Sad.
I just wish all employees could just walk out at the same time. Tell the Leadership to bl*w goats.

@a4 yes you said it well. My question is what will people be able to do for a living when AI and automation takes the jobs ? Will the government support them us? Never saw this coming. Planned on a longer career. If I get RIFed with all the contractors they have brought in to do our jobs and yet DID not offer us a demotion to a contract role myself and others on my team will be bringing a class action lawsuit for unfair trade practice. I won’t take this lightly.

As someone who could be affected by these changes, this news is difficult to process. I understand that businesses evolve and embrace new technology, but it’s impossible to ignore the impact these decisions have on employees and their families. I hope the people behind the work are remembered as much as the technology that’s replacing it.

Reading this as a potential layoff candidate is difficult. It’s clear that technology is changing the industry, but behind every automation initiative are people whose livelihoods are affected.
