Thread regarding PepsiCo Inc. (Pepsi) layoffs

PepsiCo Sr leaders. Why are you here?

Sr. leaders: why are you still here? Cash comp at the 66th percentile, equity that hasn't moved since 2020. You're being paid below market and told the difference is in the stock — the same stock that just spent six years proving it isn't. Anyone with an equal offer should already be gone. And if you're lucky enough to catch a severance package? Take it. It's the best-performing asset this company has issued in a decade.

You know what? I have very fond memories of my 10 years at PepsiCo and its only recently that I spotted........during that time I was there the share price did actually grow 100% (doubled)..........whilst I can't claim credit 😊We did some good stuff! So I was shocked and a bit sad when i spotted that the share price has basically been flat through the past 6 year since I left.

@cd Well said, couldn't agree more. It's just like they say.. empty bucket makes the most rattle.

The folks actually getting work done got their heads down and boots dirty, they ain't got time to be writing essays on LinkedIn. It's always the all-hat-no-cattle crowd makin' all the noise.

You know why the leaders are here? They are here to swat flies, then claim and post on LinkedIn - “Demonstrated decisive leadership and executed a high-impact, low-altitude aerial threat mitigation initiative, resulting in 100% reduction in airborne buzzing overhead and improved workplace focus KPIs.”

There are several leaders who post BS like this while doing zilch

They get free stock $25k a year worth for LG1 and up so if you’re an executive and don’t do any real work other than posting on LinkedIn then it’s a great gig. Go do market tours and walk a store where 4 Frito Lay managers had to prep for 3 weeks for your visit. The future will be a fully automated WH and Apps that take the place of key account managers and frontline labor moving to an uber/gig type labor use. Orders taken by A.I as current sales reps can’t order enough to prevent out of stocks. Frontline story of a guy with a surfboard that went from rags to riches that should have left a decade ago. Frito Lay was great in its day now they cannot keep people no more than pepsi so why not merge 🙄

Hard to build brand loyalty for a company whose “leaders” have no loyalty to them. How many of you get the same old song and dance during annual reviews - “it was a challenging year - so raises aren’t great” - but then read about the millions taken home by those same
“leaders” who aren’t meeting their own objectives??!! How low is our stock now??

The only skills our director and senior directors have is that they hold a title. Many of them could not survive outside of this company.

My opinion why many senior leaders are still here is because they don’t have the competency and skills commensurate to equivalent roles in well run companies. I took a severance after 20 years - had a technical role , and they contracted out my activities externally at higher cost !
It used to be a highly functioning company where tenure for a few years guaranteed your next move externally.
Not any more as I understand , .. too much BS , way too much “ we all belong and grow together “ nonsense. Good luck all

There is a weird vibe in the air and leaders seem tense. Whatever is coming, is big.

Almost everyone is completely demotivated at every level. That in and of itself is soooo bad for your mental health.
There is no way some pep rallies, pay and benefit cuts, a poor comp policy, more workload and being immersed in a business challenged atmosphere will make the team better.

The old PepsiCo bargain was simple: they burn you out, you cash out — three years of he-l for a resume line that printed money across the industry. Fair trade. Today's version? Same 100 emails a day, same disproportionate workload, except now the brand on your resume is the one that lost the #2 spot to a soda with 23 flavors and a hospital drama ad campaign. You're paying the old price for a product that no longer exists.
