@bn Agreed all HR i know had gone for sabbatical program in pasy years, actually you will find HR face eerytme in the program.

This is a story of the market not buying into our bs strategy.
On XETRA it is below the 52-week low now. The market is not optimistic about today's results.
@d5 Realistically - the board cannot continue to let the share price decline and do nothing other than stay the course. SAP has lost all the gains it has made in the last 5 years. A billion euro acquisition did not help. SAP is not a growth company - there are no new, must have products and no big new customers. Any multi-national company with a need for an ERP system has bought from us, Oracle or Workday by now. No new customers, no new products and the share price in rapid free fall. I think SAP's Board will figure out that SAP can continue to lose money with 50,000 employees the same as with 110,000, so why not cut overhead - at least it looks like there is a plan.
@d5 So there is a fairly high likelihood of openai causing oracle to go pop, leading to us being almost the only large scale erp provider left.
@a6 I don't think that SAP is in this bad shape...it still has a very large customer base and a lot of them are loyal. Competition is not much better either.
Some clean up in management and better transition for OnPrem customers will fix internal issues at SAP.
German companies are usually solid and backed by EU and German govt.
Will there be Layoffs? I think so and tbh I wish it for myself first and for all others who feel tired of the current atmosphere especially in OnPrem.

@an I am not gleeful at all - I feel badly for the employees who are in every case the victims of poor decision making of L1 and L2s. I did, however, expect more from the yes men who agreed with every nonsensical idea and spent their days su-king up to their manager in order to preserve their position and paycheck - but I do appreciate that one has to earn a living. It's just sad that the writing on the wall was there for so long - and the ones who will escape without any repercussions are the management.
SAP will instead lay off employees and double the CEO's bonus. The supervisory board is an elected body that is supposed to prevent this but they are all friends with CK and will do what they are told.
Time to dump sap stocks and hope all top managers gets fired!!!!
and HR had been helping him as a watch dog... Every sabbatical you can see ~half members are HR, why they have so much time?
@a6 Let's not be too gleeful about 110,000 people losing their jobs if SAP were to really go under.
I am delighted to see the end of SAP - the management has zero integrity and deserves every bad thing that could happen to them. Karma isn't pleasant and they have run unchecked for at least the last several years. Sadly, most L2 managers spend every moment of their workday protecting their position, so it is the rank-and-file workers who will undoubtedly suffer. There are many talentless managers exclusively focussed on preserving power and office politics, so it's unlikely that those who helped to bring about SAP's downfall will face any consequences.
