Anyone heard about IT rebadging? It seems it is coming soon.

Benefits may not be as good. However the silver lining is normally these contract positions are fully remote. There is one silver lining. Second the accountability and ownership of the application will be inherently less. Sure they may say oh you guys own this application. In reality no our new rebadged company does not own anything. VZ does. So you don’t have to do ANYTHING that is out of scope and not enforceable in contract litigation. In other words you will have less responsibility for the system in practice even if not in theory. When you go to work for a company like Deloitte for example under such a rebadge scheme. You have to pivot your mindset. Your new job is to extract as much money as possible from the company (VZ in our case), for your new company (Deloitte in this example). It’s not to own or manage VZ’s systems it’s to drain VZ of every cent you can and deliver exactly what they ask for even if it’s patently ridiculous and nonsensical and provides no real value.
@bh typically in a rebadge situation, Verizon negotiates with the vendor to keep your compensation intact for one year post deal. Benefits do not have to be equivalent. If they terminate you within the first year, they pay the equivalent of what Verizon would pay in severance. After that all bets are off. They can reduce your salary, benefits and terminate you, even without severance. In this economy accepting the deal gives you additional time to find another/better job. They don't always get rid of you either. I have colleagues who are still with Infosys since 2019.

Will they reduce our salaries after 1 year of the rebadging? Can they legally do this.

I rebadge every time I leave the office and return. Not an IT thing.
@ag you mostly continue working on the same role but now as a consultant from another co....basically you are transfered to another co that will sign a commercial contract for business continuity.
@ag It means they are moving the work to a vendor and you either accept employment with the vendor or you are terminated.

There is an IT all hands on Monday. Is that going to be when they tell us we are rebadged effective Oct?
