I have no proof, but I have a feeling those who were approved to leave on 9/4 were already going to get cut.
I have seen many posts with people upset (understandably so), that their separation dates are in 2027. my guess is those in the later groups have positions that were not going to get cut. they have been deemed essential. I do not believe these people will be a part of a future layoff.
it does look like those in certain functions were given later dates?
@ac Agree. The reason they don’t let everyone (that took VSP) go in September is they need for those persons to first either train and/or document processes for replacements. Additionally, if more persons did take VSP than what was expected, tje company may need time to hire (cheaper) replacements.
@am so you agree… those being cut 9/4 likely won’t have their positions replaced… because their department can do the work without them… hence easily part of the layoff.

The people who are leaving Sept 4th are leaving because their dept can handle the load without them there. The reason others are staying later is because their dept needs them and will most likely hire replacements for those positions. Has nothing to do with who would have been cut or not.
