Sad to say that these layoffs didn’t only mean getting rid of the workers that gave years to the company, without any view on their actual results and performance. These layoff meant that the company has accepted layoffs as part of the new company culture. Those that complain about job uncertainty have to accept the fact that uncertainty is something they will be facing everyday, regardless of their performance and devotion to the company. #sadbuttrue

Departments outsourced, working with the bare minimum of manpower and an army of furloughed workers waiting to jump in.
Many of us don’t like to hear this, but for me this looks like the recipe for the company that the leadership is trying to implement. First they want to eliminate any logg time employees in the areas that don’t have connections with actual railroadin and I wouldn’t be surprised if they outsource entire departments, anything that doesn’t physically have to be positioned in the US. Also operating with the bare minimum of workforce is the way they want to go and if that’s not possible there are always furloughed that don’t have the opportunity to find another job and in that sense are willing to come back for a small pay. #sadbuttrue
