Christmas at Conway

Just got word from upper management that there will be no Christmas holiday this year, mandatory full shop workload. As well there will be a box for food donations in the lobby to benefit those furloughed.

Quality Doesn't Matter, It's All About The Money

Another "quality" rebuild/conversion/overhaul by Juniata. The 4094 is just the latest in a trend of terrible work to hit the rails out of Altoona yet they are still doing DC-AC's. This engine was built during overhaul in August or September of 2018... — read more

Where is Squires and Wheeler during all this mess? Do they still exist? NS seems like Farrell"s show now and absolutely nobody else's. It's a crying shame what this company has become. I miss David Goode!

Shop manager change

Wonder why they're switching scx shop manager and Chattanooga shop manager? Heard it was because of injuries and poor quality locomotive repair. I guess that's their idea of getting rid of poor performance salary!

Calm before another storm.

Alot of changes are happening system wide with shuffling of freight. Some locations will notice an increase in car count's some will notice a decrease. If your location is currently losing freight start planning for a future outside of the railroad. — read more

Lots of work moving south boys.

Not looking good. Looks like they are sending more and more engines south for repairs and maintenance per my source deep within the bowels and nether regions of corporate.

The nonsense of these layoffs

Can anybody really answer the question what does the company thinks that it’s gaining with these layoffs? This just looks to me like the company giving up easily on knowledgeable and capable people, while piling up layers and layers of management. — read more

The four axle power may be sold off

The four axle geeps may be sold. NS new operating principles is that each major terminal is required to have 4 axle unit to switch customers that don’t have the trackage for 6 axle power. I can't firm, nor deny it but that's what I was told.
