Does anyone else feel like Centene is shifting its narrative internally? The recent Townhall seemed to downplay the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP)—almost like it’s no big deal. Now, we receive an email suggesting we should only proceed if we genuinely want to and offering a chance to retract our acceptance. What’s going on here? I’m really confused. This adds to the uncertainty, especially with the ongoing discussions about impending layoffs and restructuring. It feels incredibly contradictory.

@ad I don't consider yesterday's Tanya email "perfect". Only really helpful info was BOLD "strongly suggest that you apply for VSP only if you want to leave Centene..................if you have applied and DO NOT wish to leave, (hint hint) you may ;) want to withdraw your application"
I LOLd, but that part stood out to me.
The kicker is the 1st bullet point which says a lot, but is meaningless. It's not a promise or a guarantee.
"remember that most employees are eligible for VSP and being eligible is not LOL an indication that you are part of a future involuntary reduction"
The VSP response is much higher than anticipated? Wild idea: maybe that's what happens when a company ignores how unhappy its employees are.
@ac Mabye that parting gift of all the bonus was ever paid out lol
@ah At this point do what you need or want to do for you. Stick with it. Damn the torpedoes full speed ahead !
@OP what a mess they created.
@am cool our LOB hasn't had a townhall in at least 2years
@OP Whatever trust or credibility One CenTeamer's had for the executives, is GONE. They are a complete disgrace.
@an Agree. I have never seen a company do something like this. Very disorganized and sloppy.
@ag I KNOW RIGHT
@an I KNOW RIGHT
They need to quit with their cryptic bull sh-t and be honest and upfront for once. Knock it off with the stupid little slogans they're so proud of and actually consider the people who work for them. They've made their millions, meanwhile, they've put the rest of us who need to work in an impossible situation.
I completely agree regarding the Townhall. For anyone asking, individual LOBs hold their own Townhall meetings.
Simply…. Very messed up leadership. All of them. They have no idea what the F they are doing. Sh-t show!
@ag My thought is that they thought it would be less for sure. But why anything at all - I mean didn't they say they could approve or deny? If thats the case it should not matter who applied for the VSP if too many applied weed through them and deny the ones they need to keep on. I mean this was f'cking stupid to begin with. Why not just get directors/managers to meet with their team members individually to present the VSP privately and ask them if they want to leave? Or MAYBE JUST MAYBE stop listening to outside consultants who know zero about what the employees actually bring to the table as the go to for cost savings and stop worshipping at the alter of AI to do your thinking and dirty work for you.
Any Leaders in the know. We only have one more day to accept or decline can you add any insight into why the email was sent today suggesting not to apply unless you were wanting to exit the company (in BOLD). I know many on here could use more clarification. by confused Onecenteamer
Well of course it's contradictory. These people are in way over their heads. They didn't see the possibility of so many VSP takers coming and have zero idea what their next move should be. I can't think of any other reason why they would push the timeframe out another two weeks.
@a7 Right??? If there was a town hall, I sure as he-l didn't get an invite. 🤷🏻♂️
@a1 This is so like centene confusing and pivoting. Another day in the park you’d think it was the 4th of July! lol wait it is. Woohoo. 🥳 freedom independence
I think, the last email was perfect! This is the way for anyone who doesn’t appreciate and want their job, to leave. Also trying to dispel rumors or false information.
WTH why would you offer an enhanced severance to someone who is already planning to leave? Would the company not benefit more if those individuals quit without the VSP, this part made no sense to me. The recent email was contradictory to the previous one as well as the London calling video.
Wait, when was the last town hall meeting that VSP’s were discussed? I don’t recall having this meeting in my calendar.
If you offer a buyout to 90% of the company and most of those people take you up on it, you shouldn't act surprised. The board needs to take a serious look at the C-Suite of this company.
The recent addition of new board members means they likely need more time for audits. For anyone who applied for VSP and wants to leave, expect a delay, but rest assured it won't be a denial.
Great point, I think the turnout was way more than expected. The email somewhat threw me for a loop at first, too.
What town hall?
What townhall??? Yes, I am confused and tired of their games!
I say, for those of us whom already did the hard job of accepting, to remain, and not be scared off with this bloody goal post moving situation they are TRYING to play with us for.
I completely missed the town hall meeting—I was deeply in the zone working hard and lost track of time! Could anyone give me the Cliff's Notes version? Specifically, what did they discuss regarding the Voluntary Separation Program (VSP), Centene's look-ahead outlook, and the general next steps?
SO STRESSFUL
@a1 Exactly!! They didn’t expect the turnout to be as high as it is. The tone has definitely changed. They will probably send another survey asking us if we are happy here and if we see a future here.
Wayyyyyy more people went for it than they were expecting, and they don't want to pay it out.
Now they're scrambling and trying to get people to back out.
HAHA
Nope, that's not how it works, beeeshees.
Their offer was widely acccepted, now they gotta PAY UP!
Hold the line and keep the faith.
$$$ is coming!
