@c2 what makes you think that they won't just add more money to the layoff budget if they think they need less employees?
@dd hollywood is and was very overpaid. Not much difference
We're not falling for this again. ELT will not ki-l moral and have consecutive EOQ LRs
@dy the scales do eventually balance. It's deserved. A high % who are in any "managerial" position (now the #1 at risk job) are narcissists and unethical. The stories range from severe ipv, perjury, adultery (vegas is a popular venue), fraud, to stealing company info or time or items, lying about credentials, hiring practices or promotions via nepotism or certain favors, the list is almost endless
@dd It didn’t help when, during covid, all the tech people acted so pompous with the “learn to code, bro” cr-p. Now the economy comes for tech, while rewarding blue collar and you want to act like there’s a problem.
Just imagine what these numbers will start to look like once the AI infra bo-m levels off...
It's crazy how politicians will lose their minds and make ranty speeches if 500 auto workers are laid off, but no one has said a word as 25k tech workers a month have been laid off for a while now, with no end in sight
We'll end up like Hollywood, most workers eventually taking "side gigs" and then realizing their "side gig" is now their "job"
@OP i suspect it'll be ~2K and another ~2K in feb. There is approx 550M set aside "for fy27". They might blow it all in Aug, but i bet the ELT waits 6m to finish off the 1B they allocated for May 13th and "fy27"
Op! It’s 2700! Don’t know where you are getting your numbers but it’s incorrect!
@OP confirmed now? When will the list have to be finalized and by which level of management?
