Months of adjustment

Now it will take months and months to reorganize and adjust. Some teams were decimated. All of us who are still here will be expected to carry the weight and endure chaotic conditions. I do not trust managers to organize and steer the process... — read more

Feeling tossed aside

Getting cut felt like a punch to the gut. Sure, there was a severance package, but it’s hard to feel grateful when it comes with nothing more than a passing nod after years of pouring everything into the job. I thought it’d soften the blow, but... — read more

The Big Town Hall will be Hollow

If this town hall on Monday is anything like the last town hall, which was 100% scripted and fake, then it will be pointless. If they want to at least appear transparent, don't pretend that you're being open but then hide behind prescreened questions... — read more

Confusing selection process

I can’t wrap my head around the way they’re choosing people. The whole process is super unclear, and it simply doesn’t add up. I’ve seen some really knowledgeable and experienced folks laid off for no obvious reason. It feels like they’re all over... — read more

There's an extra layer to these layoffs

We haven't been able to bring in strong candidates for a while now. Talent knows to stay away. As a result, when you get rid of some of the best performers and replace them with new people without proper skills or drive, you are basically dooming the... — read more

Please welcome our new teammates in India !

Many left post layoff in IT will be welcoming their new teammates in India soon, be expected to train them, get told 'we are family' then Cargill will eliminate the costly US staff and retain the cheap India based labor. This is the playbook moving... — read more

It's over, but until when?

I can’t shake the feeling that the floodgates have opened, and it’s only a matter of time before the next round of layoffs is announced.

Decent severance

At least the severance package is decent this time. To be honest, I wouldn’t have minded being laid off now just to get it. What worries me is the chance that future layoff rounds might come with worse severance, which would make the whole situation... — read more

What caused Cargill 2024 layoffs?

This is a genuine question? I am not an employee but I am puzzled with such a large cut within the industry that should be healthy. Not sure if someone can sum things up for us lurking here and trying to figure out what happened. I hope all is over... — read more

It all started when we got the latest CHRO in place.

Being in HR for 15 years, here I’ve seen the worst HR transformation / change effort ever. Having HRLT members bullying their own folks to make them want to resign. Targeting sick employees with legal slander and creating a toxic culture overall... — read more

Should I cash out my ESOP?

It is unlikely Cargill outperforms the S&P 500 over the long-term. Unless you are looking for stability, the S&P 500 will offer better returns vs. Cargill. Cargill’s short-term performance will not improve in the next 2-3 years given... — read more

It’s Time For Another Engagement Survey!!

Dear Cargill leadership team- we need another engagement survey. Let’s ask the survivors- Do you feel valued? Does Cargill support a healthy work-life balance? Would you recommend Cargill to others? Do you think about leaving Cargill? If... — read more

Now this will be interesting

A lecture on how to do the same amount of work with a third of people gone from the team. We will all keep pulling, because we want to keep our jobs, even though we've just witnessed a clear demonstration of how easily they can get rid of us at the... — read more

No More “People First”

The Cargill culture has changed for the worst and leadership is disconnected. After 25 years with Cargill, here’s my advice- To those seeking employment, STAY AWAY from Cargill. Let it be your last option and always look for other options To... — read more

Cargill setting up to go public??

Who thinks this is could be the grand plan to get things lined out to finally push forward for going public. A lot of folks are cashing out their ESOP.

More coming tomorrow as well?

I just need this week to be over. I’m so sorry for everybody affected so far, this is a disgusting affair.

Is my math correct?

Separation agreement still not received canada

I received notice in the mass calls on Dec 3rd and I still haven’t received any documentation regarding the separation agreement. Am I the only one or are others still waiting for paperwork outlining last day and severance.

Today seems much calmer

Is the majority of layoffs done? I know they said by the end of the week, but I've heard of very few layoffs today and the news kept coming in constantly in the previous few days. I'm asking about the US, by the way, since I know things might be... — read more

“Retained” but undefined

If an employee is retained but told they’ll be on a new team in a new role to be defined later, is that employee obligated to take the new role or quit, therefore eliminating any option of severance?

News from EU

France and Belgium are letting go around 10 to 15% of their workforce, each. And due to the ridiculous amount of bureaucratic procedures, the layoffs will not be announced until around march-april. They're allowed to announce it as late as June 2025... — read more

How do I pull my investment out of Cargill

I survived the cut but I no longer want to invest in cargill or affiliated companies who manage their employee investments. What are my options to transfer those funds into a roth ira that I have independently?

If they really wanted to maximize money

...they'd take the company public. It was rumored for years but never came to pass. One big issue - a lot of the long-term employees (who are still there) and have a lot of esop stock, would instantly become extremely rich, cash out and leave ASAP. — read more

For a company that claims to "put people first"!

Have experienced many layoffs in my career. Never have I seen it being done in such cruel manner. Dragging things and emotionally torturing employees for months. I don't want to be employed by Cargill any longer. Absolutely disgusting!!!!

Cargill Culture - The Truth

Corporate culture? You mean that magical fairy dust they sprinkle over the office to make you forget you're a cog in a profit-making machine? They'll throw around words like 'family' and 'community', but what they really mean is 'work until you're... — read more

Average layoff age

If you know anyone who was laid off, could you share their age - approximately is fine? I suspect older employees were disproportionately affected, and I’d like to confirm whether this pattern holds true or if it’s just specific to my group. — read more

Why?

Does anyone of us who really has insight of what's happening know the reasons behind? We're all angry, sad, nervous, but...why is it happening? If profit may be the final reasons, what is that really drives it in this way? I dont't believe it's only... — read more
