Does anyone in San Fran have any insight into how their head count will be affected?
Austin
As of today, Tuesday 17, 2019 (10:55am local time) no lay-offs to report from Austin. Anyone has seen/heard anything?
Have there been any layoffs today?
Has anything happened so far today? Wasn't September 17 supposed to be the D-Day?
This is how it's done
When you are notified, assuming the 9/17 date is accurate, you are usually "notified" in the morning. When notified they take you away from you desk/office. This typically runs to around 11am-ish local time. This would be your direct manager, but... — read more
ridiculous
people give 10-20 years of their life to a company championing it’s values to be kicked to the curb for a cheaper alternative brought in via external hires which never work as well
rmes being axed
couple rmes are gone still showing up on whitepages tho anyone wanna name names
Leakage
If it is in fact true that the only reason any of us have heard about these layoffs is due to a “leak” to the WSJ, than I have a whole new perspective of the ethical standards of Schwab. First off, thank you to the Whisper-Blower for getting it out... — read more
Any reliable news on the layoffs?
There are a number of jokesters here posting nonsense and fake news. Anyone heard of any actual notifications that went out? And please stop with the MD in Chicago.
Despite false postings, no layoffs today (Mon 9/16)
Despite a number of fake posts about notifications at Denver and Austin, there has been no layoffs today in any of the major offices. Can’t speak for branches and FC roles. All indications from what people are saying, it will be tomorrow. And... — read more
sick days
its sad that people build up sick days for emergencies , then when a rif happens they get nothing for theis sick days they built up , companies could at least pay them 1/3 of the days they built up ..

Anyone get laid off today? (especially in the Eastern time zones)
Article about 600 being layed off - IS THIS TRUE???
I just read an article about Schwab laying off 600. Is this true?!?! I haven't heard anything like this.
For those of you who have gone through this before at Schwab - how does the layoff process work?
On Tuesday the 17th, will people be told they are laid off and then have to pack up and leave that day? Or will they be told and then stay on for the standard two months to transition everything over? Right now everyone just has regular... — read more

Layoff Rumors
Here goes, I have a couple of decent sources who have independently confirmed a few of these. Once again these are rumors. Some folks in CSIM and SPS have already been told. Field Enablement will take a large cut. Branch and Sales... — read more
Awfully quiet in offices since Executive Committee announcement
It's been somber, and awfully quiet in the offices. From Austin to Denver to Raleigh to San Francisco. Somber is the operative key word. People going about their business like the walking dead. Good luck Schwabies. The end is near, for some.
Confirmed, September 17
Got from a very reliable source that the date is September 17. Good luck.
Major layoff planned in US and Singapore
Heard news about major layoff planned in USA and Singapore on 17th September. Most financial analysts roles n low admin jobs to be eliminated. Technically most of the worldwide offices to be reduced. Singapore and Hongkong will take major hit.
What offices could be closing next?
Does anyone have a clue what locations could be closing next? At this point even a rumor with some logic to it could be valuable.
Is this true?
Just read this in one of the other threads: "Just received an email today that approximately 600 roles company wide will be eliminated starting the week of the 16th." Can anybody confirm this? 600 is significantly more than I expected - but I... — read more
