Having used to work for Coram prior to CVS acquisition I can whole heartedly say CVS was the worst thing that EVER happened to the organization. CVS is the devil and has their hands in so many arenas. They are the largest healthcare employer in the United States.
They are one of the largest retail pharmacies in the US
They are also a specialty pharmacy
They are a pharmacy benefit manager (PBM)
They have their own MED D plan (silvers scripts)
They now own Aetna
They bought all of the Target pharmacies (now branded as CVS pharmacy)
They bought OmniCare who supplies meds to a vast majority of the skilled facilities in the US
They bought one of the largest home infusion companies, Coram, in the country and now are tearing it apart…….
And they most likely still have the government contract to be the preferred provider for pharmacy needs…..
I feel for all of the dedicated employees who are being chucked to the side of the road so the execs can make more money by “streamlining” things. Which really means sh---y service and customers won’t have a choice because they will be contracted as the “preferred” provider and consumers won’t have any other choice!
We as consumers need to be more informed and be our very own advocates! #wakeup
