RTO 5 days and office closures

Are we really going to close more offices and move to RTO 5 days? I am so worried about having to pick up and move. It is getting harder for me to work. If this is happening, do we know when the announcement will be?

Is anything being done to prevent burnout?

There's too much work expected to be done by too few employees and I'm just wondering if anybody at the top cares that we're getting completely burned out and leaving in droves? Or has this been the plan all along, just to save some money by not... — read more

Severance Plan

New plan is awaiting appproval and it's not real generous. Grade 58 and under with less than 3 years of service gets nothing beyond notice period pay and unused vacation. 3+ years is 10 days for ever year of service above 3 years capped at 70 days.

Fired For Interviewing

So Monday I took the day off and spent it interviewing all day at a certain fund company downtown Denver. I went to lunch at La Merise with different people from there and while there was seen one of the directors from another team in my department... — read more

DFW Friday brunches and more security desks

DFW locations today announced brunches on Fridays, a day where there is almost no one on site. Does that mean 5 day RTO coming soon? DFW locations visibly have more security desks on site and installed. Does that mean ramping up security for new... — read more

Schwab stock price…do I have this right?

So our stock price is being hammered because investors / Wall Street do not understand our business model (same reason it cratered in the recent small bank crisis) and investors are speculating. Meanwhile, other firms are not suffering similarly. So... — read more

Walt hinting more layoffs?

Quoting him: “So we are spending you know we reduced some expenses in some areas and we’re spending aggressively in others. That’s how you can have 2000 positions eliminated and YET STILL HAVE EXPENSES RELATIVELY FLAT.”

Keeping 3 days/week in office

Just heard from someone in the know that they will be keeping the 3 day in office structure. MDs have been told they will need to keep track of all exceptions they and their reports approve and they'll be certain thresholds not to exceed the allowed... — read more

Walt and EC salary

It’s time to cut Walt’s salary by at least half. He needs to return to office as well (West Lake) not his own office that barely has anything to do with the majority of the business. Lead by example big guy instead of ki-ling employee morale further... — read more

Wait… were more layoffs hinted at?

I feel like I missed something. The last several posts imply that there’s for sure more layoffs on the table. Was there an official communication that I missed?

Good luck amigos

Good luck amigos! Here we go again. Immature communication. None of the ECs will be impacted by this downsizing to save the company.. it will you, us, the little folks who will get the boot.

Major layoff looming this week?

Austin campus was locked down today similar to the last layoff which was the only time it's happened. That is, doors typically open are badge only and security stated it's a temp change.

When?

It's July now. I was really hoping to see some of these STS Managing Directors either quit or get laid off by now. Are they waiting for the big D to leave first and get cleaned out with a new CIO? Is it the ICs that are the problem at this point or... — read more
