Don't compare the two big layoffs

The difference between 2009 layoffs and 2019 is that GM lost $82 billion leading up to the 2009 layoffs, including $30.9 billion in 2008 alone. In 2018 the company made $11.8 billion even after $1.3 billion in restructuring costs. This right here is... — read more

The last time GM had these kinds of layoffs was in 2009. It was coming off a $30.9 billion loss in 2008 and was going into bankruptcy. In 2018 the company made $11.8 billion.

Blame the UAW

Used to have an actual purpose, now they just protect people who are lazy and insubordinate. The worst thing you can be in the UAW is a hard worker. They drive the cost of Manufacturing in the US way up and don’t even do a good job....

Top brass barely impacted!

Looking at the org charts it doesn't appear that any senior leadership was impacted. How is that possible? No idea what criteria was used to reduce head count!?!
