Landmark leadership = losers

One week after the last RIF and leadership is clearly not able to lead. Leaders running meetings rehashing old news as if they have something meaningful. Listening to this is cringy and embarrassing. “We don’t know whats going on either! As soon as... — read more

Sorry

I'm so sorry this happened to everyone who was laid off from optum. I was there 4 years ago so I understand filming. Of not knowing what to do period but if you live in california HPSM Has positions available

Does anybody feel safe?

Ever? I feel like I'm always thinking about layoffs. Even a day after a round is done, I'm immediately worrying about the next one. It's exhausting.

This is from 3 years ago

Layoff

If you are laid off in Southern California, I suggest applying for UCLA Health.

Applying to Optum after receiving severence

Curious if anyone has been laid off and received a severence but then saw a job postings and applied to Optum. Is there a period you must wait not to pay back the severence? The letter doesn't specify. Thanks

Take care of yourself

Optum is not worth giving up your health for. Not your mental and certainly not your physical health. People are breaking their backs for this place and for what? A threat of more layoffs? You need to realize what your priorities are - and they... — read more

8 waves of layoffs?

According to the https://www.ocregister.com/2024/07/24/optum-laying-off-364-california-healthcare-workers-shuttering-urgent-cares/, there will be layoffs in "eight waves, the letter states, beginning Sept. 16 and concluding in January 2025."

I hope I’ll get laid off

If for no other reason than because I can’t cope with not being able to provide health service my clients are due and in many cases depend very much upon it, as per the profit only-driven policies. There is “being too much of a softie” and there is... — read more

Are the OICs safe?

Honestly, I feel like the OICs are just thrown to the wolves at this point. Like someone said the other day, the “red-headed step children” of the company. Tired of people throwing things on OICs with no extra pay. I’m sure it won’t be long before AI... — read more

abbreviations, you, and the rest of the world

as we approach Layoff Thursday, I'd like to respectfully request that anyone who posts updates PLEASE avoid abbreviations. "ABC team will need more XYZs if we're not careful!" ...isn't helpful...or in English. if possible, please cite the VP... — read more

New Employment

Has anyone had luck with finding new employment after layoffs and before layoffs? If so can give tips as to what you did to get their attention or even the company you’re at now, maybe they have some other open positions!

The projected culture is a lie. Trust no one.

My RIF was in November. There is no loyalty to you as an employee. Remember HR is not your friend or advocate, they are there to protect the company not you. If you have some time in the company, wait for the severance. There isn't a shortage of jobs... — read more

Unbelievable Psychological Games/Warfare at this Acquisition Company Disguised as a Healthcare company - Such a deceptive/unethical mess

This public company in business for profit and not healthcare is just a public acquisition company in business to make money not heal sick people or add value. It acquires businesses for 1 of 2 reasons they either want data that helps them to... — read more

They might have gone too far this time

So many people with the most experience were once again let go without anybody stopping to consider how that'll affect the company in the long run. That should pretty much tell you all you need to know about current leadership and what their... — read more

I'm rethinking my decision to leave

It's not that working here has improved in any way, it's that I started looking three months ago and I'm horrified at how bad the job market is. There are so few jobs available and the ones I decided to try and apply for either completely ignored me... — read more

Possibility of getting fired during 60 days?

Is there a possibility we can get fired during this 60-day waiting period? I know they can release us at a sooner date and still have to pay us our base salary, but would/could they go out of their way to say we’re fired, effective immediately? My... — read more

What’s the secret?

How do people with 15,20, even 30 (!) years stay in the company and avoid these layoffs? Staying at a certain GL? Moving from one area to another?

Everybody should leave

This should have been the push everybody needed to start looking for a way out. We have to accept that job security no longer exists at Optum. I'm not saying layoffs are something new, but at least we had an occasional round and we knew we were safe... — read more

Optum infusion

Did the patient navigators get let go on the infusion side?

All Employees

CHC employees stop drinking the Kool-Aid. The fact that a “great” company didn’t have basic MFA says it all. CHC was not strong. If they were they wouldn’t have sold out. A lot of CHC employees don’t like change, pun intended, and neither does Optum... — read more

Anyone still out of work?

Anyone still not currently working since the attack? I hear all systems are still not up and running. Any truth? I'm surprised a layoff didn't hit them, or maybe it did?
