Topics regarding layoffs at Optum

Optum is the next we work or movie pass

It’s incredible how the focus is selling a brand and stock. When you hear the leaders talk about how Optum's work it’s a different world than the field work.

How long until they figure it out?

I tried to hit the resign button, it wouldn't let me. I tried to contact HR you can't get a person on the phone. Sc--w my manager. So I just turned my computer off, has anyone else done this? How long before they figure out I'm not turning it back... — read more

Irony

Why is it the worst people I’ve worked with here in my 8 years time have all been from Florida?

Fûçk this place

Where can I sell patient information and company software details at/to? I prefer a rival company but I’m not opposed to dark web. Any information would be appreciated.

Navi losing business

Humana is not renewing a couple states for 2025. (Plus BCBSM is leaving.) Not looking good for Navi in the layoff environment.

Attention Tributes of Optum

The Reaping is nigh! Mark your calendars for July 13th, 2024 because that's when Lady Luck (or perhaps not-so-Lady Luck) will decide who gets to volunteer for the prestigious (and slightly terrifying) Optum Games. Who wants to volunteer?

Rehire as external candidate

Has anyone ever been rehired after collecting severance? I'm applying back in after May 2 layoff. I know some will think that's crazy, but I have 15yrs in, and would like to keep that tenure and benefits, and I also need a paycheck!!! I am also... — read more

Unemployment

Is anyone having an issue getting unemployment benefits? I was told that earnings for several quarters in 2023 and 1st of 2024 were not submitted. Is anyone else having trouble?

June to Sept 2024 layoffs coming

Any naysayers look it up. "As of May 20, 2024, Optum announced that layoffs would occur in three waves, with some employees' last day of employment beginning on July 15 and the remaining layoffs ending on August 23. The layoffs include positions... — read more

Inexperienced leaders

Apparently the senator doesn’t know that’s the UHC/Optum way. To put in adequate leadership in place, experience is not a consideration. “In the four-page letter, Wyden (D-OR) compared the incident to the compromise of SolarWinds and said... — read more

Bye Witty and Mr. 100x

The SEC set a major precedent in 2023, by holding SolarWinds’ chief information security officer responsible for the company’s lax cybersecurity. In contrast, Wyden urged regulators not to scapegoat UHG’s head of cybersecurity, who had not previously... — read more

Meeting Notice

For those that were RIF’d from Home and community and April, what was the title of the meeting that they sent to you? Every time random meeting notifications came across its nerve-racking

How many people actually got redeployed after May 2??

Just curious on how many people actually got redeployed into new positions after the May 2 layoffs? Did you find their talents meetings/calls to really be helpful? Or was it all a joke to make them look better?

Layoff vs Redeploy

I'm feeling employees from the Change Healthcare transition that are affected from the cyber attack (outside of their control) may get redeployed. But, other employees from other Optum depts are being let go, so how can CHC employees be redeployed?... — read more

Home offices vs office nearby

Get ready for movement on home offices enforcement. Review policy. Also many will be required to work in the office environment nearest you. Includes management. Everyone figure out where your nearest office is located and discuss with your manager. — read more

New roles/duties for nurses and care coordinators

Ncm, cc,, and np roles are being trained for new duties and role changes. It is highly unlikely that they will be eliminated. They will be centralized and continue as internal uhg/optum employees. It’s everyone else that will need to be ready for a... — read more

What’s up with social work?

Any news on social work or social work managers be laid off? Why are they changing our attendance in huddle and changing BH huddle?

Seasons change, potato management stays the same

I propose we all now move into a force of non communication or the complete opposite, AKA death via compliance and make it so difficult and annoying your own management team starts improving things.

AbleTo?

Ableto was in the previous round of layoffs in April. Any insight on AbleTo being in the next round? If so, what department? Will clinical services be affected?

Possible indication of layoffs coming

In the CA Optum market, UHG real estate had plans to move employees from two current work buildings to one other building. This was to occur last week. The planned move was placed on hold, with no explanation per a company email. Interesting!🤔
