OI impacted today. Not sure how many.
There are folks that were notified today in Optum Insight. Our team was informed with a list of of ID's to turn off Sharepoint access for.
What's going on?
Has it started?
No layoffs today
I don’t know why people are so certain it’s happening. Come back here at the end of the day for an “I told you so” from me. Seriously, some of you are working yourselves into a frenzy over something that’s not even a sure thing. You’re wrecking your... — read more
Anybody else still up and around?
Can't even think about sleeping ahead of tomorrow.
I was going to quit
I decided to wait and see if I get laid off first. To be honest, if they asked for volunteers it would have been better. I'd be one of them for sure and somebody could keep their job. But it is what it is. Here's to hoping that those who want to... — read more
Is Tomorrow Really the Day?
Is it possible it could be next week? The meeting invite to inform you are being laid off is usually sent around this time.
suspicious, secrets
Weird meetings back to back all in one week. Off site workshop trainings. To many meetings behind closed doors. When does this end. Stressed everyday not knowing whats coming. Not sure if I have a job everyday. Also merging with another clinic. We... — read more

What is going on, lots of secrecy all week, does anyone know?
Good luck tomorrow, everyone
I’ve got my fingers crossed, especially for those who really need the job right now, which is the vast majority of us. I’m not looking forward to going back out there and searching for something else. It’s slim pickings.
Employee Center High Call/Chat volume
Anyone know why there’s a red banner on sparq saying there’s a high call volume for employee center? Is it to do with myHR it seems like there are issues with that nonstop… just curious as to what’s going on….
To all those who'll be impacted tomorrow...
If you're hoping to get laid off and it happens I'm happy for you. Collect that severance and enjoy a little summer time. For the larger, majority who are impacted and don't want to be laid off, I wish the very best of luck, you'll come out of this... — read more

CALPERS is leaving for CVS/Caremark. Wiped about 1% of all ORx members with the snap of a finger. They were the biggest non-UHG client/formulary after Walmart - we'll see who's next.

We've recently been told by senior capability leadership we will under go extensive Epic training and certifications to replace the current onshore Epic MPP staff. This appears to inline with other IT offshore initiatives. Apparently, we are the... — read more

RTO Enforcement and Expectations
Does anyone know how this RTO mandate will be enforced for hybrid employees in the Twin Cities/DC? Some team members have pre-arranged trips this summer where they were planning to work remotely and now are afraid they have to cancel their trips... — read more

Silence before the storm?
I have a habit of checking the new Optum job postings on a daily basis. It's noon right now and there are usually 40-60 new ones by this time. Today? ZERO. It feels eerie. I wouldn't think much of it but with the context of 7/17 around the corner, it... — read more
Who actually makes the decision on who gets laid off individually within a team?
As someone who was recently laid off, any feedback from those with insight on who makes the decision within a team on show specifically to get laid off? I had a good working relationship with my direct manager and I know he didn't want to let me go... — read more
RTO is a truly costly affair
And not just in terms of money, though the added commute and office-related expenses are significant. The real cost is time. I lose hours every single day just getting to and from the office. And once I’m there, I lose time too. I’m noticeably less... — read more
Hours as a salaried employee
How many do you work or not work on average? Does going from hourly to salary change a lot ? Are you required to hit 40 hours on the dot or is there a policy?
As long as they keep offering severance, I'm good
I don't want to be laid off, but I'll be okay with it and severance. But a friend worked for a company that let go of a whole bunch of people and made it so as if they had a choice of accepting new roles (for much lower pay, which means it wasn't... — read more

Yes, why indeed don’t they offer voluntary packages?
That way, people who need the job would have better chances, while the rest of us can happily break up with this sh---y place once and for all. But I guess that would mean no drama or stress - something leadership so clearly enjoys. Gone would be the... — read more

Are the July 17 layoffs for real?
That’s the date many have been throwing around.
Voluntary Departure
I do not understand why they do not have a volunteer list that people can sign up for being severanced. The are a lot of staff who are in a position to leave and it would make it so some that want to stay can. Am I oversimplifying it?
Team meetings cancelled when layoffs happen.
Anyone else’s regular team meetings get canceled the week that layoffs happen in the company??
So, is next week going to be really bad?
Different dates are being mentioned for next week, people are getting invites, but nobody knows yet what they’re about. Don’t get me wrong, I’m resigned to my faith, but it would be nice to have heads up if it’s layoffs. — read more
Pre-service coordinators/PCRs

On coming layoffs, both soft and official
