Epic Failure to Consolidate and Automate Processes

They are still sending thousands of FAX’s a day! They have a failure of talent at the too, but so much easier to blame it on the rank and file. This is a classic strategy of mediocre management. They simply can’t compete for the best people... — read more

Smartest thing I ever did

I made the decision to leave June of last year and by EoY I had already started a new job. The relief I feel being away from BNYM is indescribable and I am so glad I took the step to free myself from all the B.S. politics that were dominant there. ... — read more

Layoff targets?

Someone said that March layoffs are very certain. Any insights on how many people will be affected and who are the targets?

If you’re lucky, you’ll get laid off?

Everyone goes around saying that they have had enough of this place and that they can hardly wait to be laid off. Encouraging are the stories of people who say they are doing much better here after earlier layoffs, but I still take their words with... — read more

Hunger Games

Because of regressive policies like forced rankings, YOUR mistake is MY safety net. Why should I tell you that you are about to make a costly error and get the BE hot potato? I didn’t happen to think that way, but I knew many who did. I moved... — read more

Overwhelmed by workload?

Heavy workload has always been there, but lately it's really too much. In situations like these, mistakes are inevitable. However, they don’t seem to care at all. I thought it was just a phase and it would pass, but no. There is more and more work to... — read more

Bny Employees are zombies

Yall got to leave, literally doubled my salary from leaving that place after wasting 12 or so years. Once you reach a certain age in conjunction with being stuck in the same position or org you become unattractive to other firms. In those 12 years... — read more

Tracking Devices - Uh oh!

So will all employees in september be required to wear tracking devices on their badge? Seems a bit excessive. Are other companies actually doing this too? But wait they promise not to track how long you sit and eat your lunch!

ATTENTION SENIOR MANAGEMENT: Employee Recognition Day

I am sure you don't realize this, but telling managers to acknowledge their appreciation for their staff today DOES NOT make their staff feel appreciated. It just makes YOU look like out of touch id–ts. If you wanted employees to feel appreciated... — read more

Carrots and Sticks

BNY Mellon has little to offer in terms of carrots (cutting edge technology, interesting projects, attractive compensation, etc.) so they are reduced to using sticks (forced rankings, threats of punishment over minor administrative oversights, being... — read more

Anyone else in Pittsburgh scared?

Did anyone attend Ryan W.'s virtual site visit and come away from it worried? Why is he so set on bringing us back to the office just so we can go for beers after work? He seems worryingly dependant on this algorithm that tells how many people each... — read more

My SUB pay that was deposited yesterday has an additional "Prior Year N" under earnings that is more than a few thousand dollars. Any idea what that is? It appears to be taxable and subject to FICA.

A very poor employer. A flop....muppets trying to be leaders. They are $$ fixated with no interest in people. Living in the past. #outdatedfools

Goals tied to Merit Increases

With 0% merit increase this year, how does this organization expect anyone to write goals ... and especially a "stretch" goal? My goal will be to search out new employment, and my "stretch" goal will be to stretch out on the couch while searching... — read more

The Org chart is upside down at this organization

Profitability through cuts

Is it just me, or is the only way the BNYM leadership knows how to increase profit is through cuts, cuts, and more cuts? Is that really the only thing they can come up with? What exactly are they paid the big bucks for, then? There is no growth, no... — read more

TODD- WHERE ARE MY BELONGINGS

How long can they legally hold on to your personal belongings when you are no longer an employee. Not a word on how to get them back. This is a disgrace. Do we need to get lawyers involved ?

This is BS

Some teams, (GCM, AS, Pershing) have employees who receive bonuses which are equal to and greater than the base salary. There is no consistency. Very frustrating, clearly the "have's" and "have nots".

Merit Increases

For employees meeting expectations, how does the bank justify no merit increases beyond the "it was a hard year and we had many challenges with the numbers". Expenses should have been significantly decreased – selling locations, no T&E, limited... — read more
