Layoffs began today at Ford, and they will continue intermittently until mid-year. Prayers and all the best to those who are leaving.

So GM had a hiring booth at the Ostrich Festival in Chandler, AZ this weekend - looking for Software Engineers. Could you at least wait a few months before looking for my younger, cheaper replacement?

I can't think of a (true) reason for it, he is one of our best. Is this something we need to worry about now? Firings instead of layoffs? I guess it's cheaper...
