My manager got laid off, oddly he’s always appeared to be super busy too and billable 100%.
Just before Xmas.
Anyone on here thinking DXC care, they need the electric chair.

As confirmed by parent company Thunderful Group, Coatsink will be losing around half of its total workforce, equating to 50-60 roles, all because of "a more challenging co-development market" and as "the business is currently unable to support all existing employees."

The usual post Christmas cuts have happened in UK with everyone going on 28th November.
Yet again there's no handover or plan for the work of those going.
Usual dead weight avoid the axe
Currently working in technical team think about a change to the sales team next year. Can I make more money ? What's its like working in sales in the UK, they seem to do well ? What are the managers like ? Can they really earn these big ote that's banded about?
Also how long do you get to get deals on ?
"The update came just a few days after IBM disclosed similar job cuts. [...] He points to IBM as an example: the company cut 8,000 HR and admin positions while hiring engineers and salespeople. “That tells you where they think value lives now. Routine work gets automated. Complex work stays human.”" https://nearshoreamericas.com/u-s-layoffs-surge-and-blaming-ai-is-part-of-the-smokescreen/

Hi has anyone received a 1-1 invite with their line manager saying ‘Business update’? This is specifically in UKI applications business under GA.
Anyone know when’s the next WFR round in the UK? Asking for a friend.
At least for UK staff, WFA days cut from 10 to 8 and volunteering days cut from 3 to 1.
Amon got the insider information to sell the shares?
Is more storm coming?

Have there been any? Seems odd we have been spared so far.
CNBC is planning new staff cuts in its international division. About two dozen jobs may be affected, mostly in London and Singapore, with some in other cities. The layoffs are focused on the digital editorial team. Because of UK labor rules, the cuts are in a consultation period before they can be finalized.
These changes come as parent company NBCUniversal prepares to spin off most of its cable networks into a new group called Versant. Bravo will remain with NBCUniversal, but CNBC and others will move. The spinoff is expected soon and is hiring around 750 new staff. Sources say the CNBC layoffs are not directly linked to the Versant launch.
The international arm of CNBC is led by Deep Bagchee, who took over in 2024. He replaced John Casey, a long-time leader at the network. Bagchee has been guiding CNBC’s global coverage in a media world that is shifting quickly to digital.
The outcome of the consultation process will decide how many people lose their jobs. For now, CNBC is trying to cut costs while still aiming to keep its reputation as a top source for business news worldwide.

Has anyone in the UK changed their Aptia fund from the default Dell Growth Portfolio?
There must be some more diverse better performing funds we can choose?
Recommendations appreciated!
Anyone got any ideas if Liverpool is to remain open? Lots of uncertainty at the moment.
I'm a manager in Manchester and I have just been told today that despite what the in office scorecard for flex employees is telling my team, they must start doing 4 days a week from 1st September (despite one week to go of the 4 week period). Seems pedantic and fussy to me.
Anyone else been told this? Not sure how will enforced.
It’s time for the lazy incompetent AE’s and the Service Sales Executive in the UK&I who have been hiding behind the promise of sales on large accounts to go.
They have been BANKING on being shielded by the sheer fact that they have ownership of the largest opportunities. No real strategy just sheer luck which they feel warrants them to be deemed the best. This has been enough to protect them. Historically these wins have been not because of them but merely because the clients had not other option but to renew.
We in the UK and EMEA are losing talented resources because of the incompetence of these people.
Time to take action now ELT (RP & MH) before it’s too late.
Did anyone else find the SH session on the Change Stream demotivating today? Apparently all of our products are currently horrible and difficult for our sales people to understand and sell, then why are we beating all forecasts for WL and PL? Only the Change steam will save us now. Also, what a great idea for everyone to stretch and do 120%, what genius! Glad Covid and dealing with kids forced back into homeschooling is no longer a concern (it is). It was pretty slick to say we actually increased headcount in 2021, when we fired across US and UK only to hire in low cost countries like India and now Mexico. Not sure if anyone else caught it, but I heard they aren't sure about Costa Rica. Translation, if you work in Costa Rica TR you won't for much longer. I could go on and on about McKinsey, Facebook, Amazon and the Digital/Change experienced know nothing hires, but I better grab a glass of wine and relax.
