Heard that some people were laid off a few days ago. Any idea about this?

i was born yesterday but could someone explain.

I know of 3 people who got warnings today, and one of them was fired. Supposedly the one that was fired was averaging 4 hours per day and would leave after lunch. Seems like half of TIAA will be let go

They'll take your dedication, thank you for it, then lay you off like it's nothing. Don't be loyal to a place that sees you as replaceable. Learn from those of us who've been through it.

From the time TIAA received my paperwork in good order until the time they transferred the money out, it took over 35 days. Like, wtf? Shouldn’t the more than a few days. What goes on?

Or do you just normally keep your current salary/bonus? I see the salary range posted on Workday, not sure if the recruiter would ask for salary requirements beforehand. Anyone have any experience with this?

I've been here for 24 years. How do I even start looking for a new job if I'm laid off? I haven't interviewed in more than two decades. I'm scared to even think how much things have changed. I wouldn't know where to start.

Are promotions based on performance, or is it just a leadership friendship club benefit?

I'm watching coworkers who are just a few years from retirement willingly walk away. That never used to happen. If people that close to the finish line are giving up their secure exit, you know there's something seriously wrong with this place.

Seems like you can only get fired for gross misconduct but not from incompetence, at least from what i've seen. Any one know any differently?

What's the deal with title changes on Workday/Teams? Used to be a 'Lead Systems Analyst' and now a IT Systems Specialist which sounds like a downgrade.... noticed other folks had different titles as well. When did this happen and why the change?

Roles are being eliminated to be replaced with India later this year. US teams being eliminated to be replaced by India later this year and 2027. That’s the signal to leave.
