ET - One Systems Dept?

How many times is SF going to reorg into one Systems Department? This is the 3rd time from my recollection. Auto, Fire, and others combined decades ago. S&S combined in 90's to form Systems and Corp South was constructed. Now we have ET. Maybe... — read more

Switch Insurance?

Since I am losing my job at SF I no longer have a loyalty for keeping my insurance there. I have 2 vehicles and homeowners. Thoughts on where to go?

Claim handling

I am a long term customer and reading about the changes in Claims makes me wonder how a claim on my home if (I ever have one) would be handled? Can I expect a local SF employee to be the person who works my claim or will I be forced to deal with a... — read more

Severance details?

What are current terms of severance? I think in past re-orgs it was two weeks for each of the first 10 years of employment, and one week for each year after that, nacing out at 52 weeks. Am I remembering correctly?

ET wave 1 conversation

I heard today that wave 1 offers are coming in two groups. Offers on Monday, May 7th have until the 11th to accept or resign. Offers on Monday, May 14th have until the 18th to accept or resign. For those in Wave 1, hope you all get some good and/or... — read more

Question for the Trolls

Ok, so a number of you have been vocal in your support for change, which you indicate is needed. My question is this: Is the company going far enough in this re-org, or are there additional things you would like to see done to ensure the success of... — read more

Where were all of you the past 10 years?

First off, it's never easy to be on transition wondering if you had a job. Sorry Bloomington folks but this has been going on for 10 years plus in the regional offices and claim centers across the U.S.. Where was the outrage, conspiracy and concern... — read more

Systems

Can someone briefly tell me what jobs would fall under the Systems heading. I’m proximity auto and apparently live in a closet.

Didn't happen soon enough

Every post on here seems to be some kind of conspiracy theory about 50+ workers. Why would that me? Could it be because you don't have any skills? I survived the purge because I've kept my skills relevant. And every day watch a bunch of useless... — read more

Claim Specialist WCCS Deployeable jobs

Has anyone heard anything about the 130 jobs they posted for about a month ago? Didn't know if anyone has been offered the job or have any information when they will send out offers.

Proximity Job Offers - Round 2

Has anyone in a Proximity position who opted in then rejected an unreasonable job offer received a second offer? My first offer was out of state and I declined. New offer received today is less than 50 miles away. I had no idea they'd make another... — read more

Hubs-No culture

I would just like to say the Hubs are reality. However if you are preparing to move to a Hub understand it is radically different than even the SF of the last five years. Most of the less tenured, not all but most, treat their role like a job and... — read more

What was MT's 2017 compensation?

MT's 2016 compensation was $8.16 million. I did not see his 2017 compensation in the Pantagraph or in any Internet searches. Does anyone have his 2017 compensation? Please keep replies on topic so mods have no reason to delete. Thanks.

For the folks that left where are you going?

Just curious where the folks that have left the company are working now? Did you stay in Insurance, was the pay comparable. Did you leave insurance and where did you go. A lot of decision for a 20+ employee that relocated to a hub for the... — read more

Layoffs criteria

One thing has been bugging me for a while now: who decides who gets laid of and based on which criteria? I'm trying to make sense of the stuff that has been happening at State Farm, but some of the decisions and selections make so little sense to me... — read more

Walkout

Has anyone ever considered a walk out at the Farm? For years we were willing to take meaningless pay raises in exchange for long term security. Now security is gone, and the pay is still not very tied to performance, and is less competitive by the... — read more

Same thing everywhere

Yes, I am frustrated. But at the top of this page, click on Allstate, or Farmers, or Nationwide or AmFam. They might as well be the State Farm links. I’m an agent, used to work in Claims. All I have to do is walk across the parking lot and talk to... — read more

This was preventable

Anyone who has ever trusted the current leadership is uninformed amd asleep. The mistakes they have made and money wasted would have bridged everyone 55 and over to full pension. Millions and millions wasted with no direction or accountability and... — read more

There is NO capacity for anyone to take PTO, but is anyone else hoarding their PTO? Because none of us know who will be next on the chopping block? Im not going to take any time off, as I may need it to look for another job if/when I am handed a... — read more

IT Transition plan date?

So when will transition plan be officially approved for IT? Wave 1 announcements in 2 weeks, then the rest of us are waiting for wave 2 in mid-June. And BTW- Yes I am at a hub and do not feel safe.

Severance in installments?

I was wondering if it was possible to get severance paid out in several installments instead in one lump sum? Savings on taxes would be significant that way and I am sure every little matters to people who are freshly out of a job. I personally... — read more

Chicago Office....lots of firings?

It seems to get worse here by the day.... people just can’t take it anymore. Some are leaving for greener pastures but others are getting canned left and right. What for? From what I’m seeing severance is not going to be offered for those holding out... — read more

Who's next?

Ad Services, L&D, IT. Does anyone know what May/June holds for other departments? Some of us have no idea when the ax is coming our way. Anyone have information? Please share.
