There are a few Target VPs already posting on LinkedIn that they have new roles at other companies. They knew before us. Not only that, they knew like 60 days ago because they are already working at the new company. Probably got professional placement assistance. That's disgusting.
If you are at a lower level and are just being informed today, now you know how much Target values you.
Do we know if there were cuts there?
For some people, this was the most important day of their life. For me, it was Tuesday.
Rest In Pi-s, Salem Oregon call center
so far so good today. but... are we just left for latter and will there be a massive cut within these groups as well? i kind of have a feeling that we have been sloted for a later cut but i am basing this only on my personal gut feeling and i do not have any insder information. i was talking to one director level person and she thinks that we'll be fine but i am unsure if i should trust this. i am not too concerned but given how crazy all of this i'd say anything is possible.
Does the WARN filing mean 528 at HQ plus 287 at TNC?????
Or are remote and global roles missing?
I think TII would not be covered by the WARN notice as this is US only?
Am I wrong here?
What's the actual number???
Did Directors and L7s take the brunt, or were L5 to L6 ICs hit just as hard across digital and merch?
For what it’s worth, based on the 10-Q of $1.6B the approximate 10000 layoffs that have occurred, an approximated cost of termination from historical digging of similar layoffs, the very rough range for number of layoffs left is between 1000 and 5000 (unless the 10-Q) is updated.
Anyone hear any upcoming layoffs?
The old WIM CAO new to WiIM Shared Services was gutted pretty hard today. Lots of people packed up and displaced……
Any idea how it’s going to go down tomorrow? Obviously we aren’t getting a zoom mtg request from our dept head and HR…especially since our dept head has left the company.
Have these Tuesday layoffs ever been large enough that they bled into Wednesday?
I'm hearing rumors that due to an excessively high number of No's to mobility, there's the creation of a third bucket of folks for January. Calling it the waiver wire/floaters on hot standby, for those not formally provided an initial position. Thoughts?
Any word on how the call centers faired?
I understand this is just the first Round and there is more in process in the next 3-9 months. Continue with the back-up plan
In the never-ending pursuit of saving money, the IT department has lost two more critical employees in favor of steering more work to the offshore folks. Best of luck communicating with FSC and getting any help at all now. The IT group was already operating on a skeleton crew. Not sure what Follett leadership is doing but they've managed to confuse everyone on the company's future.
The Salem credit card customer service site was closed today. No fanfare. 10 am scheduled meeting. Handshake from executives walking the floor thanking us for our service. And turn in your computer on the way out. 201 heads with one giant swing of the axe. 2 years of sitting on pins and needles, the relief was palpable in the building.
How come no one is talking about the recent IT layoffs?
It was shared internally then deleted mysteriously. Pls post the link/info. (For non TMs disregard it’s to an internal list). Super helpful for reaching out to folks for support as opposed to guessing and calendar stalking.
Let’s start a discussion about what people are doing to prepare. I am sitting on my behind not doing anything just hoping I make it.
Let this serve as a stark reminder: capitalism, as it exists today, tethered to public markets that demand perpetual growth, is deeply flawed.
Amazon, like any publicly traded company, must show quarter over quarter gains. One of the easiest ways to do that? Cut costs.
Is the company bloated? Probably. But let’s be clear, no corporation truly cares about you. Public companies will always prioritize perceived growth over employee well being.
That’s the nature of the system.
As AI continues to advance, it will inevitably replace jobs across industries. This pursuit of efficiency will remain the top priority for companies until the underlying incentives change.
I got layed off today I work at Wells Fargo for 17 years in customer service in hub city

A group of around 100 remote employees working in fraud and claims was told in January of 2024 that they would be laid off in the last quarter of 2025. Today they were told the layoff has been postponed through next year due to poor planning by the executive leaders. Basically they have been holding this over everyone’s head for two years waiting for them to quit so they wouldn’t have to pay severance, but they lost that game of chicken and are now backtracking (Average tenure in the group is 15 years). They hinted at hoping people would quit now multiple times in the meeting, saying “we understand if this doesn’t work for you and you need to quit, but you wouldn’t get your severance.” Just a stunning show of terrible leadership all around, bravo to the senior leaders.
Was notified last week all REMOTE workers would be displaced. Welp- Hello still 100% remote with my job!
Now who's Ready for the town hall meeting Friday?
Would be nice to have on top of severance, its so close to the end of the year.
Half of the team responding to elder abuse, fraud, scams, in STL let go today. Seems like Wells Fargo really cares about protecting their elder clients…
I work in production on a show that is in the midst of production and won’t be getting cancelled. Does that mean I should be safe for now, or has anybody seen layoffs affect people in my situation previously?
Massive layoffs are sweeping across the U.S. — Target, GM, and Ford are among major companies cutting jobs, pushing total layoffs near one million this year.
Despite record profits and strong Wall Street gains, corporations are slashing workforces, blaming automation and “restructuring.”
Critics say it’s a coordinated move to suppress wages and weaken workers’ job security as the economy edges toward recession.

I swear, if anyone still needed proof of how incompetent this leadership is, we just got it loud and clear.
To those impacted, are you done today or do you have to knowledge transfer? I had to do KT throughout my entire 2 month stay.
I get the emails. ~528 for HQ, ~287 for TNC. Assuming this does not include Remote

This is tough. Anyone knows which orgs were affected the most?
Anyone know if the roles company wide were cut?
Hearing mumbling that dozens of positions are set for layoffs between Health Solutions and Carelon case management this week. Does anyone have more concrete information on this?
There's a list of US people impacted, does anyone know of a list for global employees? #yelling says there are people in TII who were laid off so I was hoping there'd be a list of global employees impacted. Or does anyone know names of specific TII people impacted?
Now that the communication is out, looks likely that the people impacted is more than 1k, heard from 3 different people from Target India that they have 200 plus people impacted and with 900+ people on the 9AM call, we may have more than the 1k number announced earlier.
There has been so little investment in the cable side there are bound to be massive layoffs here. Still overstaffed for so few hours of original programming, with many people doing very little work (through no fault of their own).
To the person who was on their phone discussing the potential morning layoff while grocery shopping yesterday, I hope you made it through.
sincerely,
