Does HW still need talented employees?

Another colleague left. I just wonder what will happen to this company if it continues to watch the departure of the most competent ones without any interest in stopping them. Either the company doesn't know how to keep them, or it thinks it can do... — read more

Career development

It appears that the only career development at Hitachi Vantara is resume writing 101.

I feel significantly underpaid

I am in contact with former colleagues who are now in other companies and I must admit, I am surprised how much more some of them are now paid than they were here. How much of a pay increase did you get after leaving HV? The only thing here... — read more

5-10 years from now

I don’t plan on staying here for more than a few more months. I started looking for new options for myself because I no longer have the opportunity to grow here. It will be interesting to watch from a distance how the HV will change in the future... — read more

No interest in retaining skilled staff

This leadership team doesn't care about experience or knowledge, all they care about is how to get rid of more expensive employees and how to replace them with cheaper ones. Never mind that cheaper is not always actually cheaper, especially when you... — read more

ISP contracts have now all be canceled!!!

Susan is doing a great job destoying the Global Service Organization. All of the ISP contractors that were hired to make "our jobs more manageable" have now been fired! CS&S has now been asked to pick up the extra workload left behind. The wheels on... — read more

Talent development recognition

Someone who doesn't work here and sees this kind of news might think that HV is realy dedicated to investing in talent and/or fostering a culture of learning ---> https://www.td.org/press-release/72-organizations-win-prestigious-atd-best-award It... — read more

What are the chances this is true?

The news just hit - manager leaked it accidentally. 20% wholesale RIF worldwide. No bonus pay (i.e. two weeks for each year worked). Instead - two weeks pay maximum. Also - no Cobra or outplacement services. Employees will be notified by EOW - with... — read more

You do know you can leave, right?

If I was as unhappy at HV as some of you apparently are, I'd be long gone. No, this is not a perfect or even great place to work but for now, it's okay enough for me to stay. But when I read some of the posts it's obvious that people are miserable... — read more

Avoid getting comfortable

HW is simply not a company where it is a good idea to start feeling comfortable! I still haven’t heard any new rumors about layoffs, but I learned a lesson when my colleague got laid off for whom everyone thought was impossible to get laid off... — read more

Regret?

According to Harris Poll survey for USA Today, those who quit jobs during the Great Resignation regret the move, don't like their new position enough to stay or are searching for a new gig. Now for Hitachi Vantara poll survey: How many of... — read more

The end of fiscal year is approaching

As somebody mentioned previously, this is the time when we're most likely to learn about any major plans for the future, including layoffs. I think we can all agree that there'll be some cuts, that's at this point inevitable, but how big they'll be... — read more

Hitachi Vantara workers should UNIONIZE

The time for Hitachi Vantara taking an unfare advantage of its employees needs to STOP! Working conditions here are at an all time high and we need a change. Let's welcome union orginizers and get higher / fair pay.

Lack of focus

Management needs to let us do our jobs and stop meddling every step of the way. If they keep changing processes and shifting the goal constantly, we're both losing productivity and quality of the result. Decide what you want, decide how you want it... — read more

Depressing place.

I'm starting to despise this company. People who were great to work with are no longer there. Everyone is very cautious, anxious and people prefer to work completely under the radar because this place is so toxic. I hope to get an offer soon... — read more

Welcome gifts for new hires

I have just noticed on linkdin that new hires in India are given gifts. I know for a fact it does not happen in the US sorry only India? Maybe because HV has become an Indian company? Makes you wonder if they give sh^t about employees in other... — read more

I'm only staying for severance

And I'm starting to wonder if even that is a good idea. From what I've heard, there is a real possibility it'll be significantly reduced for the next round of layoffs, although that's still in the realm of rumors. Until it's confirmed, I'll stay on... — read more

I want my life back

I think I'm done with prioritizing my job even if it means losing it in the end. This is just not humane anymore. I can't tell you for how many years I've been putting in the nights/weekends/hours because there was something that had to be done right... — read more

Be careful before you agree to be laid-off

I was fired (wrongfully). I refused to sign the papers until I had a chance to check them very carefully. If I had signed the papers, I would have given up every legal right I had in regard to that company, but the wording was so complex and used so... — read more

Susan's comment on the webex

Did anyone hear SM about how successful the move of level 1 support to Mexico was. She has people around her telling her what she wants to hear. The GSC support in MX is horrible. Wrong parts sent for replacement. Wrong action plans, not handling a... — read more

Hitachi @COP26

Hitachi is doing good here! My question, how does Hitachi Vantara make an $$ from this?

DEI Speaker

Anybody listen to the DEI speaker that was at the HV zoom recently? Several times she used the term old white guys. How is this inclusive? DEI is just a different form of discrimination.

Age discrimination at Hitachi Vantara

Age discrimination? Does anyone feel that HV is guilty of this as IBM faces allegations it fires older workers, replaces them with young hires.

Is this the worst employer in tech industry?

Apart from the fact that no one who leaves here regrets it, there are many of those came from much better companies and made a big mistake coming to HV. I can't wait to leave. It is here that I found out what I don't want. Looks like there aren't... — read more

Unfit to compete

The irony of “fit to compete” is that it left us in the exact opposite condition.

How many jobs have been outsourced

Gajen is very supportive of being “Fit to Compete” aka let’s put jobs in the cheapest regions possible, forget quality, we made profit. How many people have been impacted?

At least I learned my lesson

I have been trying to summarize my impressions of HV over the few years I have worked here. Advancing in my career is not commensurate with the effort I put in. I’m not that happy with the skillset I gained here either. Perhaps the most important... — read more
