How long after the HR meeting are most people told to stay? Rest of day? A few days? Or does it vary?

Found out today that a coworker of 23 years. Was RIFd last month. Not voluntary. He did receive 23 weeks of severance. Can anyone else confirm this? I thought only volunteers recieved severance.

RIFs won’t hit until Friday at the earliest. Most likely the beginning of next week. Marching orders are to ship and sell as much product as possible before wiping out the census.

Anyone heard anything about the self nominations that had to be submitted by Monday 6/15? I haven’t heard of anyone getting cut from that yet and am wondering about timing.

IT has plans to insource a lot of the work done by vendors. Why insource work done by AT&T, NTT, etc?. Why not hiring more software developers to build new software that we could sell?.
