Got laid off today from Ansys
Ansys was a great company to work for. I didn't get that same impression from Synopsys, but I guess that comes with working for a much larger company. It was a good 5 years.

Exec Shakeup - Rick
Wonder how much more bad news is out there now that Rick is out. Doesn’t instill confidence and I wish that we at Ansys were not acquired. I suspect the initial set of layoffs will happen tomorrow now that we have an all hands call tomorrow.

I am a relatively new employee (less than 3 years) but the company I interviewed for is asking for a non-compete waiver to join. What are my options? Does anybody know the procedure?

Wouldn’t it be great if leadership actually spelled out what to expect, including some of those “minor” details like severance terms?
Does any one heard if Synopsys offer a voluntary reduction program?
The company should offer such a program so people who are willing to leave could have the option and reduce the size of layoff.
