A good idea to help get through the day during trying times.
This leader really nailed it and I think this will help everyone who is anxious about the layoffs coming in 17 days.

I have 1:1 in an hour
Is this it? Is this how people are notified? Is there any chance this could be something else? I feel sick to my stomach.
Still not able to relax
I thought I'd feel great this weekend, make up for lost sleep. I was very much wrong. I still feel like cr-p, I still can't relax, and I still have trouble sleeping. I think this whole thing has been hanging over our heads for so long that it'll take us a while to go back to normal.
Is there talk of shutting down the Ravinia office in Atlanta?
I have this feeling I’m not long for my current position anymore if that happens. I work under John Blanchards org and we just had a layoff in August. I think I’m being paranoid but since Srini is taking over soon… I just don’t know. The market is brutal now and I’m job hugging like a motherf----rI’m not ready to leave yet.
Has any C-Level exec ever been to the Atlanta office?
Anyone else hyper sensitive to everything…
… during this time? Weird looks from HR, snarky comment from your boss, IT folks wandering around counting docking stations and monitors?
just joined Verizon, now what ?
I'm a develop joining right before the new CEO.
I assume i will be the first one if layoff happens in my team.
All my long term plan has to be reconsidered at this point.
Relocation, housing etc.
Real advises please guys.
How long this thing would last ?
Should i start looking for new job?
Anyone i can talk to make myself feel better ?
Does Optum usually have layoffs around holidays?
I hope we're safe for the rest of the year, considering that the holiday season is starting. Or am I expecting too much?
This Place Ages You
Before joining this place 5 years ago I used to be told that I look 5-10 years younger than my actual age. The other day when I was looking at pictures only 6 months into working here, it was night and day compared to photos pre-ELV. The fear, anxiety and constant chaos of this environment will do it to you. Not to mention more health issues. I hope I can get some of that lightness of spirit back when I leave here.
Next RIF date?
Anyone heard of the next layoff? Confirmed please, don’t want to cause anxiety but worried about RIF before the holidays!
Made it through another October
It seems the last couple of years the two most worrisome months of the year are October and april. We made it through another october. Maybe we can breathe easy for the next few months?
Any idea how many people they’re after?
There’s been no official communication. Nothing in the media either. We’re completely stumbling in the dark. Why? Do they want to make this even more tense than it already is? Our livelihoods are on the line.
Layoffs
I’m pretty anxious about the upcoming layoffs. Especially if they are before the new year. My wife and I are expecting a baby soon and are heavily reliant on our insurance currently. Insert panic here.
I’m getting desperate here
I’ve been trying to find another job for months, but I rarely come across a posting that’s even real, let alone get an interview. All this talk about upcoming layoffs is making me extremely anxious. I’m terrified of losing my job and being out of work for a long time. How is someone supposed to support their family when they’re running out of options?
Remote
When they asked remote employees to move back were you offered moving assistance and what did that look like? Survived yesterday but still anxious about a RTO mandate
BNY PAC?!?
Support the BNY PAC ?? Anyone see Robin's message?
for what? To fund politicians who don't care about rule of law??
freaking ridiculous.
While we get replaced by AI??
30,000 corporate Amazon employees will be flooding the job market because of AI. Good luck competing with those people.
We're all going to need UBI soon, if not food stamps.
Sc--wed if you are riffed now and even more sc--wed if you are riffed later
A point I never see get made is how frustrating it is to deal with an even worse job market just because you worked hard. Yes, I might survive the next rif, or maybe the next two, but three rifs from now there will be so many unemployed white collar workers that it would put us in a worse spot. Sc--wed if you are riffed now and even more sc--wed if you are riffed later, really demotivating stuff.

This.
Do they layoff people on FMLA?
Currently on FMLA leave, am I safe? I have major issues with panic attacs, cannot drive or socialize - this does not help at all. I wish you all good luck. Love yourself no matter what.
This feels too slow
Are we sure today will be the main day?
THIS PLACE F-C-ING SU-KS!!
I love my job and the people I work with. Even the ones who are a pain are still tolerable. However, for the last year or so, I hate coming into work the Tuesday after payday wondering if I’m next…and also seeing so many of my coworkers across multiple locations being laid off for no reason other than just coming to work and doing their job.
I also work in SA and constantly worry about losing my job knowing they just opened a new campus up in Dallas.
The CEO and COO needs to get off their a-s and come clean with employees setting the expectation for how many more layoffs can we expect before they cool it.
No severance info yet
Is anybody else really, really worried about this?
Twenty-two days
So we’re supposed to sit here for twenty-two days, wondering if we still have jobs. Twenty-two days of stress, rumors, and sleepless nights. It’s unbelievable how inhumane this process is. They could have given us a week’s notice, even a few days. But no, they’d rather drag it out and make everyone suffer.
This will be a long day
Nothing happening with my team so far, but from what I understand this will be a whole day thing, with notifications going out periodically. Needles to say, not much work will get done today.
Damn...
Soooo...is this a good indicator of a big layoff?
Retention
Do our immediate supervisors kno.whom is being laid off yet
Are layoffs going to continue throughout the week?
Allegedly half, around 7,500 people, were notified yesterday. Are they aiming for 14,000 total in this round, or will it continue in January?
Mass layoffs everywhere lately, and it’s freaking me out
Heard some people here might’ve been let go a couple days ago, it’s hard not to worry. Feels like the writing’s on the wall. People are spending less, things are slowing down. I just hope this isn’t the start of something bigger.
How much percent each team will layoff by next year?
It seems 5% so far. I am sure the largest wave hasn’t come yet.
Anyone else getting invited to meet with their area’s SVP?
Just got an invite this afternoon to meet with my one other coworker (We’re L5), the SVP of our area and then our boss’ boss. No agenda, no details. Meeting is private. Seems really strange and now I’m stressed out again.
Are a lot of people getting invites for Thursday?
I’ve seen a few posts from folks saying they’ve received them already. Isn’t it a bit early? Then again, management can always change tactics.
Will the layoffs in the US continue throughout the week?
If so, that’s a real bummer. No end to the peak anxiety.
This is not over
Yes, we can catch our breath for now, but this is only the beginning. If you think you’re safe, think again. All signs point to layoffs becoming the new normal. I wish it weren’t like this, but ignoring it won’t help anyone.
Is anybody else not feeling relieved?
Even knowing it's over? I still can't get rid of this knot in my stomach.
Are the rest of us safe?
If we didn't get an invite for the meeting, does that mean we're safe?
When Leadership Fails, People Get Hurt : Help eachother!
Too many good people are struggling right now — burned out, anxious, even dealing with health impacts. It’s easy to feel invisible, like just another name on a list. But we’re not, and we shouldn’t be to each other.
Everyone deserves respect and safety. When that’s missing, it doesn’t just hurt morale — it hurts people. If you see someone slipping, check in. “Hey — you okay?” can mean more than you think.
If someone’s afraid to report what happened, do it for them. Accountability starts with us. Big changes don’t excuse breaking rules, laws, or people.

We may not fix everything now, but we can protect each other.
Before you downvote, think: if someone was wrecking your health or threatening your family’s income for no reason, wouldn’t you want someone to speak up? We’re a $6 billion company, not a failing startup. This isn’t survival — it’s people going rogue, and it needs to stop.
when are we safe
how long do we have to wait? meeting invites shouldn’t come after 8 right?
Just a few more hours
As long as they don't decide to drag this out throughout the entire day. I'm not sure I can take that.
