How bad did my boss drop the ball?

I received by feedback today, manager said they went in with thinking 'VG' with a case to argue for 'E', BUT, the way things "shook out", I received "G". Anyone with any insight as to how you go from arguing 'E' for your employee and landing at 'G'?... — read more

SSHE Global Security

SSHE in particular Global Security used to be a valued added Department with world class professionals that always did the ‘right vs popular’ and set the bench mark in the security industry. Such a shame to see the deterioration and poor behaviour... — read more

The point that changed my perspective...

Was back in 2020 when EM immediately laid off my coworker who had just come back from cancer treatment. I always knew it was transactional, but that for sure drove it home.

Fixing slackers' mistakes

But I don't want that, not even at the cost of losing my job. Helping someone is perfectly fine, but for my boss to order me to correct the mistakes made by his lazy favorite - that's not ok with me. I am exhausted from doing double workloads and... — read more

10 percent inflation

Prices on average went up 10%. I would like the price of my labor to be adjusted accordingly. Anything under 10% is not acceptable as it would be an equivalent of a pay cut. You should ask for it too.

Who am I competing against?

I’m in CL X in a ranking group that has CL’s X, X+1, and X+2. I was told last year during my feedback session that I did really well, but that all three CL levels in my pool are ranked against the same criteria and it’s tough for the little fish... — read more

NSI - age

There are many conflicting opinions when I talk about it with my colleagues. What do you think, is NSI mostly dictated by age?

How hesitant were you to retire early?

I would really like to know the number of those who, contrary to their original plan, decided to retire earlier because they can no longer bear EM. I would also like to be able to do that, but I am discouraged by the disadvantages of early... — read more

Health Benefit Transition Debacle

ExxonMobil terminated my health benefits with Aetna prematurely while I was still an employee and paying for medical insurance. This leaves me with an insurance gap. Until then , I cannot seek healthcare until COBRA kicks in or able to hitch to... — read more

D/S BAR

Does an interesting and rewarding career await for a relative New Hire into BAR, or is it the holding pen for soon-to-be NSIs?

Worst CEO ranking?

Is there one out there? Glassdoor has some outdated articles/rankings. Wonder what DW would rank considering he has a Glassdoor 26% Approval rating as the CEO.

This is why people are leaving

I have worked at different places and seen enough. By far the ExxonMobil culture and it’s employees and management are the most mentally corrupt and toxic humans on this planet. The poison has spread to far and deep that it is not possible to fix... — read more

TG should be FIRED!

Vote (Yes/No) whether you believe TG has turned Human Resources into Human Remains at XOM and should be FIRED! I believe she's not even NSI worthy! And her direct reports should also be NSId for not demonstrating "Courage of Conviction" to speak up... — read more

Less than one year to early retirement

Five years ago I wasn't even considering early retirement but now I can't wait to leave. I don't feel like going through the motions for several more years for no good reason. I have enough savings to make it work. I hate that I'll basically be doing... — read more

PIP Thread - Post your NSI story here

Rankings are final. Communications being scheduled. Are NSIs communicated first, last, or random order? Please post here if received NSI and when / how your communication took place, and if taking PIP.

Share the upside

So we are awash with cash; we are wasting money on share buy backs. Sounds like Darren doesn’t want to increase structural, costs except for himself. Why don’t they give a proper one off bonus to share the upside given we all felt the downside — read more

Attrition has slowed down significantly

Funny thing is, I'm not sure if the reason is the fact that XOM is doing great right now so people are choosing to stay or if it's because everybody is accepting the fact that recession is coming and they don't want to risk leaving right now. In... — read more

No Stock Buybacks

EM is forecasting record profits. In profitable times past, EM would throw the profits down a pit called Stock Buybacks. The stock price would not be affected, so basically just erasing profit and erasing company value at same time. Going into... — read more

Good Salary Research Tool

H1B salaries have to be reported to the government and are disclosed to the public. This site aggregates all reports for all companies, I've filtered out data using EXXON as the keyword. There are only eight Exxon salaries reported in 2022 but there... — read more
