Question for those of you who have been impacted by a layoff recently: I understand that you receive a call/ meeting with HR and you are separated that day. How long after that date did you receive your regular pay (not any severance)? Also, how long did benefits continue, specifically health insurance? Thanks!

VZI layoffs
Around 150-60 been impacted
45% of those are band 6 rest 55% were engineer 1,2,3 . Realistically if we include all those folks who got moved to NRB and Wireless operation teams then realistically the count is 200+
RTP is closing
Long rumored and finally here. Campus to be sold to data center developers
Laid off - should have known
Displacement call 9:15am on a Tuesday after payday for me. Got the IM (inconsistently meets) at end of 2025 for the first time. Had always gotten meets prior and no real reason for the review or what I did wrong. Simple explanation of “we expect more than we used to” brouhaha.. Also got the telltale “you have not met standards
Of using AI in the past month” email even though those supposed standards were only being tracked for my team starting May 1, and I had been using since mid April on a daily basis.
Half my team was eliminated. Well, half my U.S. team was eliminated, most with 15+ years with wf under their belts. Underperforming teammates in India had no layoffs. Writings on the wall folks. No one is safe as management doesn’t, and hasn’t cared for a long time. Pretty soon all work will come out of overseas locations with no quality checks being done. And AI isn’t at a place yet to replace the work of many specialists. CS doesn’t care though, as long as he gets himself and all his banking buds jobs and retirement packages while he still can.
Get out while you can. WF is now, atleast to me, considered the WF Titanic of companies. Sinking ship, not enough life boats for sustainability, and I foresee another audit/check of WF illegal workings, with a spotlight on good ole Uncle Charlie. That’s why he keeps hiring his cronies from past jobs and contacts, right? Feather their nests while he still can.
As soon as I can, I will also be switching banks to one I have faith in. And there will be no ties ever again to WF.
are layoffs effective immediate?
For the ones being affected by the LR, are they making it immediate, or did they give you a near future end date? i remember for some of the previous layofss they gave a long notice before the end date; also people from my team got layed off and they were around for 1-2 extra weeks
Leadership's only focus is finding ways to replace us
Cheaper workers, offshoring, AI - whatever works. If they could charge us for the privilege of working here, they would.
Annual background checks lol
“Annuals checks to begin soon” Another way to weed out people instead of laying off. I get it’s in the employment contract but I’ve never got this email all the years I’ve worked here.
Today would have been my 25 yr anniversary...
but I got surplused two years ago. Just came back to check in to see how things are going with everyone. Sounds about the same. It was rough going out there for awhile. The job market is so bad, I applied to over 1000 jobs and it took me 16 months to land a job and it was an indefinite contract job which I'm still in with hopefully FT soon. While the layoff/unemployment/job search process was a nightmare and really did a number on my mental health, some good did come out of it. We were able to pay off every ounce of our debt with the severance. We found an awesome financial advisor and rolled my pension and 401k over and he's made us a ton of money since then, much more than I would have made where it was sitting. It does su-k not knowing if/when this job could end but I'm making $40k more than I was at AT&T and doing much more interesting and meaningful work than I was. The company I'm at now is a billion dollar global manufacturing company and they have their sh-t together so much better than AT&T, it's like night and day seeing what it's like working somewhere that actually cares about their employees. Best of luck to all of you out there. It was hard to lose my job but ultimately I think it was a good thing for sure.
There is a hidden cost to reorgs that I do not think gets talked about enough
Every time leadership reshuffles the org chart, employees do not feel alignment. They feel a wave of anxiety that another round of layoffs is coming. That feeling does not disappear after the new chart is published. It settles into the background and quietly consumes attention, focus, and energy. People start working two jobs. Their actual job, and the job of managing their own fear. On top of that, we are paying a massive tax on context switching. Teams barely get comfortable with new priorities or new leaders or new workflows before leadership announces another reset. It is impossible to build real momentum when you are constantly starting over, constantly reintroducing yourself, constantly trying to remember what the mission was supposed to be this quarter versus last quarter. I would argue that stability is not just nice to have. It is a genuine competitive advantage. But you cannot demand world class creativity and execution from people who are always bracing for impact. What the company actually needs is not another reorg. What we need is a resilient long term plan, a consistent direction, and a culture where people feel safe enough to do their best work. That is how you win, whether you are playing for now or for later.
Performance reviews are just cover for deciding who gets cut
I've watched hardworking, competent people get lower ratings than they deserved, then get laid off as soon as possible. It's not about your value. It's about cutting costs.
Interactive layoffs today 05/14
Here we go again
Don't you just love how nonchalant he is about it?
"With this, we are making changes today that will result in the reduction of our overall workforce in Q4 by fewer than 4,000 jobs, representing less than 5 percent of our total employee base."
Basically, he's saying it's just 4k jobs, no biggie. He doesn't give a damn that so many families are about to lose their livelihood. It's less than 5 percent, so it's all good. Just a small nuisance, nothing else.
My team got hammered again
I have no idea how we're supposed to get anything done.
You cannot outwork the politics here
I am going to keep this simple because I am tired of watching the same thing happen. I have seen people give this job every waking hour, burn themselves out completely, and then blame only themselves when they got let go. They never saw it coming because they believed hard work would be enough. It is not enough. The people who survive here are not the hardest workers. They are the best talkers, the best networkers, the best at being visible in the right moments and invisible in the wrong ones. If you are not one of those people, at least stop giving this place more than a fair day's work. It does not love you back. It will not remember your overtime. Save that energy for yourself.
Woohoo I'm safe!
Fewer than 10 of our team were cut (US team, not going to DOX myself). The remaining department are breathing a sigh of relief right now.
VRIF notification
So today those that requested VRIF get told yes or no. It is mid afternoon in Europe already and still silence. I guess they are going to push the 14th May date to be as late as possible in the day just to be “respectful” which is how Louis described the process would be.
Any news on more layoffs?
Anything happening in sales?
Report your 1:1 or HR meeting if you are in India
Since it is alredy later after, I guess anyone impacted in India already get notified? Thanks!
2026 layoffs in Tennessee eclipsing recent years
Tennessee saw thousands of worker layoffs in early 2026. From January to April, 3,377 workers were laid off. This marks the highest layoff total for that period since 2021. Takeda to Cut 4,500 Global Jobs
Takeda Pharmaceutical will cut around 4,500 global positions. These reductions are planned for fiscal year 2026. Hundreds of Massachusetts employees are also facing layoffs. The company attributes these cuts to the decline of its dr-g VYVANSE. This restructuring aims to fund new dr-g development and launches.

Washington state recorded the second-highest number of tech worker layoffs nationally. Over 11,000 tech employees lost jobs between May 2025 and April 2026. This data comes from Revelio Labs research shared with KUOW. Amazon, Oracle, and Meta were major contributors to these job cuts. A slowdown in tech hiring is also a significant trend.

Cisco Plans Job Cuts Despite Strong Financial Performance
Cisco announced another wave of mass layoffs this week. The company plans to cut fewer than 4,000 jobs. This amounts to less than 5% of its total workforce. This decision comes despite Cisco reporting a record revenue of $15.8 billion. The company is shifting investments toward artificial intelligence.

Customers will see this as confirmation
I am about to be let go from a group that was supporting a mature, well-known product that should have been practically free money for Cisco. Instead, it was a source of constant agony for customers who suffered numerous outages, resulting in angry phone calls. What do you think people like this think when they read the news? Time to pick another vendor.
I feel bad for my fellow employees today, but I feel just as bad for customers who have unwisely entered into contracts for this bottom-feeding outsource chop-shop.
KKR might buy UA. It is not substantiated but heard through my industry grapevine
That might complicate business for Nike since biggest team dealer for Nike is BSN (overwhelmingly) and they are already part of KKR.
So KKR will own UA and do business with NIKE. Will they be fair with Nike or use Nike while they support their own UA. That is intriguing.
Once again, Nike in their hubris went around closing almost all of the independent team dealers. And pivoted all of the Nike's team business with BSN. Another brilliant march towards corner by our smart former CEOs MP and JD. They thought that they will maximize the profit if they deal with one big guy. Hmmm....yes but if that strategy turns against you then it might ki-l you too. LOL
BSN has already been producing their private label apparels. And if it gets supported by UA then they don't need Nike.
One time, I talked to former BSN VP and he was not too happy that they have order too much futures because Nike demands it therefore eating their profits. Maybe they won't be forced to order too much futures with UA that owned by KKR.
Since Nike has no other option, they might have to continue to do business with BSN even if they emphasize on their own brands.
One of the scenario is that they might sever ties with Nike and go exclusively with UA.
That would be devastating to Nike since Nike don't have anyone as big as BSN when it comes to team items. Eastbay had team business but they have closed their business.
And I don't know how Nike will combat KKR if it really happens since Nike is pauper compared to KKR. Yes, KKR has more money than GOD.
That was brilliant MP and JD. It was your fault
Currently, BSN is serving Nike's key high schools like Mater Dei, St. John Bosco, de la Salle on behalf of Nike, all over the USA. They might try to sign those school for themselves.
Once again, KKR has more money than God. And in addition to it Nike stock is totally depressed now and losing their shirts in China (3 billion feet). I am not sh-t talking it is in today WSJ.
Nike is currently a company that has Plan A but no Plan B nor Plan C. Why? Becuase they ki-led them all. The little account that is.
The Ripple Effect: Why Corporate Layoffs Hurt More Than Just the Bottom Line
The current wave of layoffs is doing far more than just thinning out payrolls—it is poisoning the well for those who remain. When a company pivots to mass terminations, it isn't just "restructuring"; it is dismantling the psychological safety and cultural foundation that keeps a business running.
### The Hidden Costs of "Survivor Syndrome"
While leadership focuses on the balance sheet, the "survivors" are left to navigate a toxic landscape. Here is why the post-layoff environment is so damaging:
- The Erosion of Trust: Constant job insecurity ki-ls loyalty. Employees stop thinking about long-term innovation and start focusing on exit strategies.
- Burnout and Burden: Remaining staff are often expected to absorb the workload of their departed colleagues. This "do more with less" mentality leads to rapid burnout and a decline in work quality.
- Demoralized Culture: Watching talented friends and peers escorted out creates a heavy, somber atmosphere. The office transforms from a place of collaboration to a place of anxiety.
- Loss of Institutional Knowledge: Layoffs are a "brain drain." When experienced people leave, they take years of process knowledge and client relationships with them, leaving the existing team feeling lost and unsupported.
### The Reality Check"You cannot cut your way to growth."
A company’s greatest asset isn’t its capital—it’s the collective energy and motivation of its people. When you treat employees as disposable line items, you don't just lose headcount; you lose the heart of the organization. If companies continue to prioritize short-term stock gains over long-term stability, they will eventually find themselves with a workforce that is physically present but mentally checked out. A demotivated team is a stagnant team. It is time for leadership to recognize that protecting the environment for existing employees is just as vital as managing the budget.
Is this for a LinkedIn post, or are you looking to send this as a formal internal feedback letter to leadership?
Red Tag: Contract firm has Global All Hands next week
The topic is not about layoff, it is about Security, but who knows, maybe it is just an excuse?
Any red tag here? I have not received any one-on-one email from contract firm!
Constant LRs
We are trendy. We have constant LRs. You can argue that we invented this, we do it every quarter, used to be every year. Companies increasingly treat small to medium sized layoffs as a signal of disciplined management... Using targeted headcount reductions to reassure investors and support the stock price. So, we've been making money even before layoffs. Now we are making "EXTRA" money. Whatever. Sick.

Closing WF accounts

Memo: From Chuck & ELT
Team,
Today we announced our Q3 FY26 earnings with record revenue of $15.8 billion, up 12 percent year over year, and double-digit top and bottom-line growth. The ELT and I could not be prouder of the growth you have all delivered for Cisco.
These results are even more impressive given the complex environment we’re operating in - a rapidly changing market, with intensifying competition, and a global shortage of components critical to support our portfolio and the AI buildout from our customers.
The companies that will win in the AI era will be those with focus, urgency, and the discipline to continuously shift investment toward the areas where demand and long-term value creation are strongest. I’m confident Cisco will be one of those winners. This means making hard decisions - about where we invest, how we’re organized, and how our cost structure reflects the opportunity in front of us.
With this, we are making changes today that will result in the reduction of our overall workforce in Q4 by fewer than 4,000 jobs, representing less than 5 percent of our total employee base. Most notifications will begin on May 14 and continue globally in alignment with applicable local laws and regulations. For employees whose roles are impacted, leaders will share details directly - including timing, available resources, support, and benefits in each country. This will include pro-rated payment of FY26 bonuses to impacted employees. We will provide support in finding new opportunities, whether internal or external, through Cisco’s placement services - a program that has seen 75 percent of participants discover their next role. We are also committed to continued personalized learning and will provide one year of access to all Cisco U courses and certifications, covering AI, Security, Networking, and more.
While we are reducing roles in some areas, we are making clear, strategic investments - particularly in silicon, optics, security, and in our employees’ use of AI across the company. These investments are building from a position of strength - and focusing on the technologies and businesses that will accelerate our growth, deliver unmatched innovation to customers and partners, and define our future.
To those leaving Cisco, thank you for your contribution, your dedication, and the mark you have made on this company. We are deeply grateful and are committed to handling this transition with the care, clarity, and respect that defines our culture.
For those who will continue here, we will discuss these changes and answer questions at the Cisco Beat on May 21 at 8 a.m. PT.
We have important, impactful, and consequential work ahead. Your focus, resilience, and leadership are vital to our growth and relevance in FY27 and beyond.

Noticed recently there are 599 new OGA (offshore) employees, and their U.S. manager was part of the 04/30 layoff.
Anyone out there with more info on what’s to come? Timeline, which departments, etc.
Candescent layoffs
Candescent layoffs are happening.
400M in Q4, with 4000 people. That comes to approx. $110k per employee.. HOW ??
Are majority of the layoffs in India ? Are they not planning to lay off any managers, directors, VPs in US ?
WIM Risk
They’re slow‑rolling the dismantling of the WIM examination team. The head was pushed out about four weeks ago, and I’m hearing another ten people were cut yesterday. With 70% of the work already shifted to India, the writing’s on the wall. The rumor now is that by the end of Q3, St. Louis will be the only U.S. location left standing.
