I guess I am creating this thread for us who want to vent. Type away.
Where are HealthSpring employees (hired post-acquisition) supposed to report in the office?
My whole team is remote. I was told that I need to go to the office 3 days/week starting April. Nobody knows where I'm supposed to be reporting... the chicago office has 50+ stories. There was zero guidance during my orientation.
Who gets a yes?
Is it only Maurice that gets a yes? Need to backfill a role? We get no. Need funding for a broken process? We get no. Need funding to improve a process or build a client request? We get no. Want to promote a hard worker? We get no. ... — read more
"If it's not illegal, illicit or immoral, say yes"
Maurice Smith, at today's town hall. Brain dead. Also: he says culture is strategy. He means culture eats strategy for breakfast. It is a famous quote. From a book. You know, the things he says he does not read.
Town Hall Confession
Jill listens to Nickelback.
Town hall day
So exciting!!! Will we learn Maurice’s favorite Cookie flavor? Action hero? Thoughts on the upcoming World Cup? What will he read to us today?

In Office Requirements
If you go into the office do you need to be logged in for a certain amount of hours on your computer? Does HCSC track that?
How to volunteer for layoff/RIF
Hi everyone, i know it's a long shot, but I am genuinely looking into how to possibly "volunteer" for layoff. I am burnt out and going to take a career break, but how can I be part of layoffs if there is a second round? Might as well try to get some... — read more
What happened here?
Something changed. Managers used to be fine. Now they're toxic, yelling, pitting us against each other. Six years here and the last two have been awful. No idea how some of these people still have jobs.
HR and employment requirements
So now we have to sign a confidentiality and non compete document as a condition of employment annually. Funny. Never saw this before today and absolutely zero information on it. Thanks Monique
Federal Layoffs in 2026?
Our work in federal has decreased so significantly we are getting extremely nervous.. has anyone heard anything about possible layoffs over here?
How are we feeling?
HR employees, what are your thoughts around our most recent townhall?? Mine: could've been an email and Bye Anne!
Submitting 2 week notice - questions
How does HCSC respond to a 2 or 3 week notice? Some companies walk you out immediately and terminate on the spot. I have health and wellness days available, should I turn in a 2 or 3 week notice and use some of those days? Any other recommendations... — read more
DEI seems to be dead at HCSC
What happened? Only commenting in this forum since I keep hearing about layoffs...unfortunate.
Marketing townhall - thoughts?
Felt a bit unserious.
Upcoming Organization Moves?
Are we done with the big changes or is there still more planned and coming soon?
Did everyone get the all employee Townhall invite ?
Did everyone get the all employee Townhall invite ? My colleague did not. Does it mean she is in trouble ?
Are pay increases retroactive?
I talked to a coworker recently who said the pay increases in the past were retroactively paid out, going back to the beginning of the year. Is that true?
CPO reassigned to Treasury? Anybody know why?
Seems like a hard working and nice guy. Just an Arun thing?
API
Bonus payouts and merit increases were small this year. Idk about you all.
Rumored layoffs
Do you know of anybody who was cut today?
What is your API percentage in your role?
Wondering how they differ among departments, what is your API percentage goal?
Bonuses or Severance Packages
Which are we getting? Which are we hopeful for?
My honest take on working at HCSC
Between the constant cost cutting and the obvious favoritism, this place is tough to navigate. If you're not in with the right people, your work just doesn't seem to matter. Leadership feels disconnected and the culture has turned pretty toxic. I... — read more
2-20 any more layoffs?
Any teams impacted today?
2-19 layoffs?
Anyone hear anything of layoffs in IL and TX? Just had some teammates say they’ve seen folks being escorted out buildings.
Serious Question - how are their so many legacy people here?
I’m about 9 months into HCSC. I heard mixed reviews about the organization before I joined. My immediate team is friendly and professional, but it seems the company as a whole is dysfunctional. There is no accountability and no one really knows... — read more
Consultants Are Back
Spotted getting off on the 16th floor. Eyeroll. Expect them to be paid millions to recommend “cost savings” in RIFs that will never materialize.
I don't know about a layoff of the general employee population, but
I think we'll see leadership changes soon.
5 Days In….. Coming Soon
What percentage of the company will leave in 2026 due to 5 days in. Badge in and badge out coming as well……
Changes
Beware the Ides of March.
Let's just say it out loud!

Medicare layoffs in 2026
Based on what people are hearing, when do you think layoffs will start for Medicare? We know there may be some with the integration work coming.
Likelihood of VSP
Things have been quiet but we know budgets are still tight and headwinds are only increasing. Something is definitely brewing. How likely is it that they offer a VSP to push out more expensive employees? I recall a post here from a few months back... — read more
