Goldman Sachs forecasts rising oil prices will impact the US labor market. The bank expects a reduction of 10,000 jobs per month through 2026. This could push the unemployment rate to 4.6% by the third quarter of 2026. Slower hiring, rather than increased layoffs, will be the main driver. Consumer-facing industries, like leisure and hospitality, are most vulnerable.

The hot air balloon flew over but no $$$150,000.00 $$$ fell out.

Looks like it got popped and fell to the ground with an empty basket. Let the ones who fought for your good wages and100% paid healthcare( The Union ) keep your basket full and quit counting on those who care nothing for you. All deals must go thru The Union first.

<100k

Prediction is Citi is going to be at <100k employees within 5 years or so. The market will simply demand it. You are delusional if you are in the middle/early part of your career thinking long term at Citi. People in the revenue generating side of things in the business will have a much longer off ramp. However, if you are in operations/ technology/ risk and controls etc then you are being very complacent not actively having a back up plan. These MDs you bootkiss are basically being mandated that they reduce their teams on an ongoing and continuous basis. Jane and her cohort of fu-kwits clearly have highly ambitious plans for RIF

when are next layoffs scheduled for?

Question for those in the know, since clearly there are some here. Obviously you get a better deal if you're laid off as far as unemployment goes. Last time Phase 1 people had to share in middle of September if they were staying or going. Then layoffs occurred the end of October. Repeat this time?

Minimum $700m / 12,000 to go in Q4

#general will be below 155,000 by 31st May

There was $700m left in the restructuring fund at the end of Q3 and it wasn't enough, so they added $500m more.

All you can be sure is it will happen in the next 9 weeks.

I'm coming on like a hurricane
My lightning's flashing across the sky
You're only young, but you're gonna die

I won't take no prisoners, won't spare no lives
Nobody's putting up a fight
I've got my bell, I'm gonna take you to he-l
I'm gonna get ya, said I'll get ya

He-l's bells........

15k layoffs wasn't enough...

Dan signed up for multi billion dollar transformation.

15k layoffs wasn't enough.

More cuts def coming and it seems like execs are getting real with their teams and just flat out scrutinizing everything.

The Sr Directors are also lacking one of the two main key skills. 1) leadership 2) technical knowledge.

Only a handful around that can do both. Can't grow a company if u are just one.

When they close the big offices guess what?

They may no longer be obligated to WARN in those states locations with 50+ employees, so VZ won't have to pay the additional money to keep them around doing nothing for a extra 30 or 60 days. It makes it cheaper to do layoffs after this is done, harder to count and trigger the thresholds.

Don't expect layoffs to stop any time soon

This isn't ending anytime soon. They've been cutting consistently through the last several years and that seems to have turned into a business strategy. They're not even trying to hide it anymore. If numbers need to look better, why bother with trying to come up with something long-term and business related when you can simply cut people and have it all align nicely on that spreadsheet?

Understand their business model. Churn and Burn!

Everyone make sure you understand the current business model. 80% of all employees at State Farm, including Leaders, have been here 5 years or less. They are getting rid of U/W, Fire ILR, Chat, Customer Support etc... Around 70% of Auto and Fire claims employees have been here 2 years or less. Wake up! This company is what you call a churn and burn or a pump and dump scheme! They have to message how "people" are the most important thing but in reality they will do everything in their power to make you leave and especially do not want you to get severance or be eligible for unemployment. They make you work in a totally understaffed meat grinder, reassign and then reassign you again to horrible departments. With the constant turnover, they load level others work to the people that are actually good employees which burns them out even quicker. This is not based on stupidity or incompetence but it is a cold, brutal calculated plan that corporate America is using to destroy the American worker. Regain control in their minds. Find a way out and for the love of God do not buy any State Farm products! Tell friends and family too! These people are trash and will do anything to you to enrich themselves.
