Any word on remote employees being called back?

There’s been so much rumors about layoffs, but no rumors on return to office for remote employees? Has anyone heard anything about this or will those employees just be part of the larger layoff and we will still keep some employees remote? It seems to be at other companies they did a larger mandate of return to office for remote workers to try to eliminate jobs more organically. It doesn’t seem like that’s a rumor swirling, are remote workers safe from this rif?

Anyone else feel like the hammer is about to come down?

It has been eerily quiet for far too long. There were some changes in the beginning of the year. Other tech companies have been making sweeping changes and layoffs all throughout the year. It has been quiet around here. I feel there will be restructuring or layoffs soon. Do you?

C’mon people, share info if it’s somewhat reliable

We’re all worried, and for good reasons. Everyone’s throwing around random numbers and dates, and it’s making things worse. Being snarky because someone’s anxious about their job isn’t helping anyone. Most of us are in the same boat - stressed about debt, bills, and the worrying lack of opportunities out there.

January?

Trying to ease the anxiety over here - good to know what's down the road for us. No way Deerfield can handle the OPO overflow. Parking lot is full most days. Earlier someone posted expected layoffs of 400 in January. Does anyone have any updates on this. Still January, or sooner/later? And first week of January, or later in the month? What's the pattern with previous layoff timing?

When you show up to the miserable employee competition and your opponent is a T employee

If you think we are a telecom company, think again.
BlackRock owns ~75% of T, VZ, and TMUS.
How is it possible Stankey is still CEO after the historic TMUS, DTV, and TWD blunders?
Because Stankey doesn’t work for T, he works for BlackRock (“the board”).
When Stankey fu---d the TMUS acquisition, T was looking to acquire them for ~40B.
Today, they are worth ~260B, you read that right.
From 2011 to 2025, TMUS shares gained 650% while T gained 20% in the same period.
Do you think still think Stankey works for T?
2025, AI is the hot thing. We are still not a telecom company, but an employment company.
T is MSFT’s bi--h, and what does MSFT want more than anything? T to embrace their massive OpenAI investment as MSFT’s customer.
As we know T execs don’t innovate if it was the last thing they do, so why would we do this?
The execs know that we have too many employees, and that they can backfill any “AI cost savings” by simply firing employees at any time because they know we have too many.

We’re not a telecom company, we’re a firing company.
We are a legacy asset like much of the F100 that only can be more profitable via layoffs, growth at T is dead and Stankey ki-led it

Who gets laid off rumors

I’ve been hearing a mixture of things in the forums around who gets laid off. This is what I’ve gathered:

Outside consultants, Accenture, came in to decide which parts of the business we are reducing head count in.

For legal reasons, Target can’t use some sort of metric to determine who in each part of the business specifically will get cut.

High performers aren’t safe either, but I also heard a contradictory claim that past performance reviews will be used to decide who gets laid off.

Direct managers won’t be involved in deciding which of their direct reports are laid off, since those decisions are being made at a much higher level.

They will target high paying jobs L6 and above, but at the same time they can’t seem as if they are doing age discrimination.

Tech seems to be “safe” because of attrition.

Merch org will get hit hard due to ?. No one really said why.

Anyone hear anything I haven’t mentioned?

I took off next week and you should too

I’m using up PTO next week Monday through Friday and here’s why you should too. It’s been proven that if you’re OOO during layoffs you don’t get laid off. They cannot lay you off when you come back because the lay offs need to happen on that date they’re scheduled for. If they don’t happen on that date because you’re OOO then they won’t happen at all. It skips you!
