Dan made 100% of workforce suffer mentally to cut 15%
This says a lot about him as a person or leader..
Verizon will be sinking ship. Forget customer loyalty, I do not think there will be any employee loyalty.
Abu Dhabi
While Hans is running through the streets of Abu Dhabi shouting “Leeeeeesssssss Gooooooooo” and Dan the man is completely silent, VZ Employees are left with what today?
Who actually has any morale or pride left in working for this company? Is anyone actually proud to be a VZ employee? If the business as a whole doesn’t sink, the morale and sense of pride sure have. Prove me wrong.
SD or Directors: When are you supposed to make first call
Can anyone reveal when the first call will be made and when to finish it ?
It’s not a state secret.. you can say that much
I take comfort in...
I think my chances are about 50/50 of being impacted today.
I started at the very bottom and worked my way up over 28 years. In that time, I’ve held—and mastered—multiple roles. These roles allowed me to learn how everything works. I’m one of the few people who truly understands how everything works end-to-end.
I’ve built many systems and processes here that only I fully understand.
So if today is the day I’m “promoted to customer,” I take comfort in knowing Verizon is fu---d. I won’t be here to take anyone's calls, explain how something works, or why it was designed a certain way. I won’t be handing out contacts or filling in gaps or giving out recommendations on solutions to complex issues.
And I also take comfort knowing I’m not alone in feeling this way. A lot of people know where the bodies are buried—and they won’t be helping either.
Good luck.
Has JC and pose hit the jackpot? Will the Spaniard Repsol do due diligence?
Looks like JC has found the company that can be saddled with massive abandonment liability. Will Repsol do any due diligence and what will it mean for employment?
Meeting Invites for RIF
Meeting Invites being sent out today. From what im hearing there is going to be a trimming of the fat. RIF's for Christmas!
Lake Mary location - how bad will it be in lay offs? Hearing it could be one of the worst places to be for this layoff round?
Or am I just hearing nonsense? Why would they have something against white collar back office?
Outsider point of view
This company does not demonstrate genuine support for its onshore employees. Although they offer retention bonuses to individuals acquired from other organizations it is not fairly across the board, they simultaneously create conditions that make it extremely difficult for employees to fulfill their contractual obligations eliminating their retention bonuses obligations. The strict “no bench time” policy, combined with the expectation of securing billable hours immediately, before assignment ends results in employees facing the threat of termination through no fault of their own. Employees submit multiple internal applications submitted with large amount of rejections.
I strongly advise caution when considering employment at Deloitte. The constant pressure to find the next billable assignment creates an environment of ongoing stress and instability. It is counterproductive for the company to acquire skilled, intelligent employees only to undermine their tenure and contributions. From the outside looking in, Deloitte’s constant rotation of employees can make it seem as though they are trying to hide their inability to properly support projects
Additionally, there are concerns regarding the company’s independence, as employees are often pushed toward using preferred partner vendors from which the company appears to financially gain. Dictating what companies you can do business with.
Am I the only one thinking positive about layoffs and severance package?
I’ve worked in the retail side of the business for 8 years. I’ve seen the shift of customer service to overseas, the inflated quotas and the lack of communication between higher ups and store level management. The company has changed its direction 180 degrees and shareholder profits and faith have shifted with it. For a lot of people the job search is what scares them. I personally see severance, unemployment and time with family around the holidays as an unexpected surprise to embrace. Some people are okay with complacency, but sometimes you just need a change.
Please help - Need to know!
I have an offer from a company and they're asking me to drop my papers and then forward the resignation mail to them for confirmation (my previous job asked me to do this as well)
I initially thought I'd see if I'm getting laid off, since dropping my papers now means no STI, so instead, severance could help me make up for that loss.
But now I am thinking that's a bad idea, and that I should resign and serve my notice period.
Verizon STI Bonus Question
I've made decision to leave the company regardless of what happens with the layoff. I'll likely survive, but would gladly take the severance.
My question for today is: Does VZ still pay the full STI amount for 2024 if I resign in January 2026?
Verizon is a hot mess
I am a new employee via contract and 8 months in my observation has been WTF since month 3, when I really got the lay of the land. Beyond the share price decline and lost market value, the organization lacks unity and accountability. There are way too many mid level people actioning work who are not great at what they do or have been told by their boss that they are not accountable for keeping to a reasonable level of standards for collaboration across teams. I’ve seen senior people refuse to collaborate and throw their peers under the bus. I don’t know the history of the company’s decline/ drama but when I joined I had friend at Amazon, Chase and other solid places say it’s a great company- these are good friends BSers. I am curious if anyone here would like to share WTF happened or if it’s always been kind of a mess.
Thought loyalty, ratings & experience mattered
I always believed that loyalty, tenure, experience, integrity, and consistently high performance meant something. I thought those things mattered — that they protected you, or at least earned you some consideration. Turns out, they don’t. I’m being laid off too.
What hurts the most is knowing I’ve always operated with integrity. I’ve done things the right way — by the Credo, by our customers, and by the business. I never cheated, inflated numbers, or gamed the system. I focused on doing what’s right for the customer and what’s right for the company — because both matter. I brought real value without taking shortcuts, and I truly believed that mattered. Apparently, it doesn’t.
Meanwhile, it’s hard not to notice that some who openly cheat the process and play the commission game stay untouched. People who push $10 routers customers never asked for — hurting the customer relationship and the company — will keep their jobs. And yet someone with strong results year after year, both individually and as a leader, is cast aside like I’m expendable. It’s hard to make sense of that.
I also can’t understand how this company thinks it will continue to operate without the great minds and passionate people customers actually rely on. We’ve always been told customers don’t just want the cheapest price — they want people who care, who solve problems, who think creatively, who build relationships. Yet somehow, those are the exact people being treated like numbers on a spreadsheet.
Watching the company cut individuals who are true assets — people who carry this place on their backs — is a travesty. And it’s not just today. More cuts are coming, and many who truly matter will be ignored or pushed out sooner or later.
I’ve thought about leaving before — especially with so many disconnected decisions and poor ideas happening around me. But I stayed because I believed in my team, in our customers, and in the value we brought. At least now I’ll walk away with a big payout — and I can be grateful for that. But it’s painful knowing others will get tiny packages and rely entirely on this paycheck to support their families.
Verizon, you’re making a huge mistake. Customers will feel this. The problem was never the people — it was the decisions. Dan once told us that “employees are Verizon’s most important asset.” Seeing the company treat us like costs to eliminate proves how empty that statement was. Customers do want us. They want the expertise, the honesty, the relationships. Cutting the people who provide that is not the answer.
For me personally, I trust this will ultimately be a good thing. But for the company? The consequences are coming — and customers will be the ones to say it out loud.
Tomorrow 11/20
I BETTER see some positive posts tomorrow!
Home Based Care
Are there any layoffs planned tomorrow for home based medical care?
Article says 89 employees to be laid off starting Jan 12, 2026 - didn't meet Warn act requirements?

Market has rejected Dan's plan.
Market has rejected Dan's plan. Its been a week since they announced 15K layoffs, the stock hasnt moved an inch. Could be a signal that market is anticipating further deterioration at the expense of cost reduction.
Hiring freeze?
Is there a hiring freeze right now? I applied for two roles and radio silence but I meet most if not all of the requirements and what I do is pretty specific, so I can’t imagine it just being that much competition.
VCG Update
I work in one of the VCG departments. I can’t share specifics because we were told to keep this private. But SDs and ADs were pulled into a meeting with their VP and notified their teams are all safe. Similar meetings are happening all across the org this morning so you should likely be getting an update soon. If you don’t hear anything that might be a bad sign…
More layoffs today?
Has anybody been notified so far today?
The new US PTO policy su-ks
That's all what a load of BS
What's happening?
Can somebody please explain to me why are people getting laid off already? I thought this was supposed to be one major round starting on Thursday, and I keep seeing mentions of this or that already being laid off - and I'm not talking about managers here. What's going on?
Just overhead a call
Legal team was massively impacted by rifs.
CREG VP lasted only 3 months
That was fast. On another note, I can’t believe we paid over $3B for that business. It’s probably worth $500mm at most.
Corporate layoff plans
Are they sticking to plan to let people go by specific seniority bands and dates? Someone shared a doc with me that says tomorrow it’s only VPs and Sr Directors. Then the next level down the following week etc.
$2.50 😮
No words
Terrible VZ culture
It's going to be tough to right the ship after being so anti-customer for decades now.
I used Verizon cellphone service for a year in the late 1990's for sales position and was so put off by the overall experience I switched at first opportunity back to AT&T. In the mid-2010's I tried Fios and had the same terrible experience. Different LOB, same BS.
Verizon has a bad reputation with customers that will be difficult to shake off with promotions.

Washington
What's AG up to in Washington?
Are fully remote workers next?
My original assumption is that fully remote workers are going to get laid off soon since this guy is adamant about enforcing full RTO. But who knows these days..
BGCO VOICE
Has anyone heard anything about public sector BGCO voice?

Crystal Ball and SOLV layoffs
The reality of SOLV financials is gruesome. Revenue just north of 8 billion. Debt north of 5 billion. Bryan is a grossly incompetent and overpaid clown but he was dealt a bad hand thanks to Mike Roman. How 3M saddled a HC spin less than 25 percent of the original company was a master play in financial engineering.
Even after the only smart move Hanson could do in spinning off Filtration, his card deck is full of low cards. No aces of trump left. He's being pressured by a rich guy who may not live out the next four years of the "Solventum Way" given he's already 83.
The poster who wished SOLV had never been spun off is right. As bad as 3M is being run, at least the stock price has doubled under Bill Brown.
If you are still working at SOLV and see things differently, please pass the gummies. The layoffs will accelerate and not just be a Frank Shirley Christmas bonus special. No way can Bryan grow the top line when he's obsessed with cutting costs. The one good chance HCBG ever had of being special died when Bryan listened to the guy on the yacht instead of going all in for growth.
Meanwhile, cousin Eddie is getting the long desired management position he's always wanted, reporting directly to Heather. The two would make a great tag team in the WWF of overpaid and overweight execs.
Forced Ranking
Layoffs with two NS and some forced rankings of one NS in our department VAS. Anyone else’s departments affected?
