Volunteering won't do it. The defiant nature of the leaders here will just give you more work, laugh at you struggle, and will try to make you quit.

You have to put yourself on the chopping block by simply reporting your manager to Employee Relations. They will take the side of your supervisor, BUT you are a target now. A person who doesn't go with the flow, and can potentially expose them. Therefore, becoming a financiql liability and a source to empower others.

I guarantee you will be on the next list.

This is the next meeting where they talk about the new portfolio model and yet, there is no info on what the structure will actually be. Will we be notified only on 9/3 if our leaders were let go?? The layoffs on 9/3 and the portfolio model must surely be the same thing?

Go ahead and sign so they know who the disgruntled people are and can put the sc--ws on you harder. The goal has not changed and the goal is still to get rid of as many people as possible without having to pay ANY severance. Even if you sign you can be terminated before a layoff is approved. If you have been keeping up on the layoffs/mass firing of federal government workers then you are up to date on what's about to go down.

I keep putting on a brave face for my family and my team, while feeling the stress build up inside. In 15 years with this company, I don’t think I’ve ever felt pressure like this.

It’s pretty clear leadership isn’t thinking beyond the next quarterly report. The long-term impact of shedding talent, experience, and skill doesn’t seem to matter at all. No matter how well or poorly a company is doing, there are always cuts, so there’s more money for the people at the top. Leadership doesn’t care about efficiency. They care about the bottom line, right here, right now.

Does anyone know? We’ve been stuck in a constant guessing game for weeks now.

Dexcom, the San Diego-based maker of continuous glucose monitors for diabetes patients and prediabetics, announced Wednesday that it is laying off around 350 workers, or 3% of its global workforce. Most of these reductions, or 196 people, are in San Diego, and of those, 134 are in operations and manufacturing.

Not sure why I still waste energy worrying about layoffs. They're basically a given at this point. Leadership made it clear - more cuts and “savings” are coming through the end of the year. That means stay ready, keep some savings if you can, and always have an eye out for other options.
No point in stressing, it's out of our hands.

Rumors of another reorg continue but with no transparency on timing or impact. Leadership — including the new VP — has not provided clarity or support. Does anyone have additional insight on this?

I work for WellMed. We are now under Optum, it's been about a month. I was told with this transition, they will be making cuts immediately as soon as next week. A lot of people dont know this is gonna happen so i know its going to shake people up (rightfully so). Its very unsettling the amount of layoffs the entire organization goes through every year. I've only been here for 7 years and every year, there are layoffs. They cut people, don't replace them, or if they do its with AI or they dont promote employees.

The Mercury News reported two WARN act filings by Oracle - disclosed on August 13, filed again on August 14.

"Oracle America is cutting 101 positions in Santa Clara, the company revealed in a WARN notice filed with the EDD on Aug. 14. These staffing reductions come on the heels of a disclosure by Oracle on Aug. 13 that it had decided to cut 188 jobs, consisting of a loss of 143 positions in Redwood City and 45 in Pleasanton."

Does this mean that the disclosure layoffs (Aug 13) already happened but the filed (Aug 14) layoffs have up to 60 days to execute?

There is a long list of Aramco's failed investments over the years. Let's start with Chemicals: Sadara, Petro Rabigh, Rapid and there are more coming. Wall Street research suggests that Aramco will be lucky to get their money back from these over 20 - 30 years, and Rapid isn't even in Saudi Arabia and thus creates no jobs inside the Kingdom. And all of these pale in comparison to Jafurah unconventional gas. The government has given Aramco over $100 billion to build infrastructure for gas that has yet to arrive in meaningful quantities. Management's solution to all these bad decisions seems to be to squeeze employees and contractors. Oh, and borrow more money ... or as Aramco's CFO likes to say "optimize the capital structure". I think I can safely say that everyone outside of Senior management is disgusted. Its not just Expats, good Saudis with options don't seem to want anything to do with Aramco either.
